Final Fantasy 14 Might Be Getting Reborn (Again)

Final Fantasy 14 might be about to undergo a significant update. The game’s director has announced plans for a major renewal that could dramatically change the world of Eorzea.

Man, Final Fantasy 14 has an incredible story. It almost failed at first – the original version was so bad they actually shut it down and completely rebuilt it. But taking that risk totally paid off! The new version, called A Realm Reborn, ended up being the best and most successful Final Fantasy 14 game ever. It’s seriously amazing to see a game come back from the brink like that.

Final Fantasy 14 might be getting a major overhaul. In an interview with Inven, the game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, hinted at a complete rebuild of the game over the next ten years, essentially starting fresh with a second version.

What Would A Second Final Fantasy 14 Rebirth Look Like?

Yoshida is likely discussing a complete overhaul of the game’s engine, which would significantly improve how Final Fantasy 14 looks and performs. This makes sense, as the game is starting to show its age, even on newer consoles, and the current technology is holding it back from reaching its full potential.

Honestly, I don’t think Final Fantasy 14 will ever do another complete overhaul like “A Realm Reborn.” Too many of us have put so much time and effort into our characters and stories in the current Eorzea. Basically, starting completely over would make a ton of players just give up on the game, and nobody wants that!

Everyone is wondering when the next major update to Final Fantasy 14 will come out. It probably won’t be for a few years, likely around the time new gaming consoles are released, giving the developers enough time to get everything ready for those platforms. Another possibility is that it could launch in 2028, which is when the fifteenth anniversary of A Realm Reborn happens, making it a fitting time for the update.
