In celebration of its 12th anniversary, Final Fantasy 14 is preparing for The Rising event! This exciting occasion includes a fresh questline and the Wind-up Gulool Ja Ja as a complimentary prize. From August 27 to September 11, all fans of Final Fantasy 14 can join in the festivities and obtain this endearing reward.
The event known as “The Rising” marks both the reintroduction of Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn (in 2013) and the catastrophic incident within the game’s universe that almost destroyed Eorzea, as it happened at the conclusion of the initial MMO. The enticing and highly-anticipated rewards from “The Rising” include extraordinary items, like the Phoenix transformation mount which was offered during the 10th anniversary celebration of the widely praised MMORPG in 2023.
The Rising Returns to Final Fantasy 14 on August 27, 2025
In 2025, The Rising is set to make its comeback, offering another exciting reward. From August 27 at midnight Pacific Time, through until September 11 at 7:59 AM PT, players can embark on a new quest named “An Adventurous Ambition” from the Minstrel in Limsa Lominsa. To participate, your character merely needs to reach level 15. This means even novice players should find it straightforward to join in. Upon completing this quest, players will receive the Wind-up Gulool Ja Ja minion, enabling them to have a miniature version of the beloved Dawntrail character accompany the Warrior of Light on their journeys.

Historically, The Rising is known for breaking the fourth wall by using Naoki “Yoshi-P” Yoshida’s in-game character, the Wandering Minstrel, to personally thank the playerbase and sometimes provide hints about future story developments. Given that Final Fantasy XIV has concluded the main story arcs of Dawntrail with Patch 7.3, there is a possibility that fans might encounter a subtle clue or teaser for the next expansion within the upcoming quest.

Currently, the Moonfire Faire event is still running, set to end on August 26, just before The Rising begins. Later in early October, “Monster Hunter Wilds” will collaborate with “Final Fantasy 14,” offering players the chance to acquire the Seikret mount and a unique encounter against Guardian Arkveld.
It’s even more thrilling! It seems that “Final Fantasy 14” could potentially release for the Nintendo Switch 2 at some point. Reports suggest that producer Yoshida has had positive talks with Nintendo regarding the possibility of bringing the MMO to their platform, opening up a new player base for the game. If fortune favors Switch 2 gamers, they may even get to join in future iterations of The Rising event within the next year or two.
