Final Fantasy 14 Will Bring Back Some Unobtainable Rewards

Final Fantasy 14 is planning to restore cosmetic items that were previously earned in The Feast, a player-versus-player mode that was removed with the release of the Endwalker expansion and replaced by Crystalline Conflict. Responding to requests from players, Final Fantasy 14’s director, Naoki Yoshida, has announced that Square Enix will make these previously unavailable rewards accessible again.

The Feast was a team-based player-versus-player (PVP) mode available in the Heavensward, Stormblood, and Shadowbringers expansions of Final Fantasy 14. Teams earned medals by defeating opponents, and the team with the most medals won. While the rewards were cosmetic, some of the rarest items were only available to the top 100 players on each server, making them difficult to obtain. The Feast was removed in the Endwalker expansion and replaced with Crystalline Conflict, which became the game’s main small-scale PVP mode.

Final Fantasy 14 Is Bringing Back The Feast’s Rewards

At the end of the latest Letter from the Producer live stream, Naoki Yoshida announced that Final Fantasy 14 will re-release rewards originally earned from The Feast, responding to requests from players. Since The Feast is no longer available, those rewards were previously impossible to get. The team noted that the game gained many new players during the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions, meaning a larger number of people missed out on The Feast. While the player base has stabilized with Dawntrail, Yoshida confirmed these rewards will be added back into the game over time, though the exact schedule is still unknown. A Redditor named VanillaSeparate4493 shared that potential returning items include armor sets and mounts.

The next big update for Final Fantasy 14, patch 7.4, will significantly change how glamour (armor customization) works. Square Enix is removing some limitations on what armor types each job can wear, letting players create looks that weren’t possible before. For instance, a Dark Knight will be able to make their armor appear like it belongs to a White Mage or Pictomancer. Weapons will still have restrictions, though, because of how animations work.

Players can now buy rewards from older PvP series at The Wolves’ Den using Wolf Marks or Trophy Crystals earned through PvP. With the 7.3 update to Final Fantasy 14 changing character models, it’s uncertain if some older armor sets – particularly plate helmets from The Feast – will be adjusted to fit Viera and Hrothgar characters.
