Square Enix plans to bring the initial installment of the epic Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy to the Nintendo Switch 2. The game titled FF7 Intergrade is expected in 2025, and it’s anticipated that this could be one of two ports returning to the Nintendo Switch 2 from the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series.
In simpler terms, if you’ve been following news updates, this announcement might not be surprising to you. Back in May 2025, the director of Final Fantasy Remake, Naoki Hamaguchi, stated that the rumored Nintendo Switch 2 would have sufficient power to run the entire series of the remake of Final Fantasy VII.
It seems the Switch 2 can handle the JRPG after all.

The highly anticipated Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is set to release this winter on the next-generation Nintendo Switch! Enjoy a steady 30 frames per second gameplay for smooth performance and stunning visuals.
As a fervent admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about the upcoming season! Although the exact time in Winter 2025 wasn’t explicitly stated, it’s safe to say that numerous Christmas trees will radiate an enchanting Final Fantasy 7 vibe, much like the Lifestream.

It seems improbable that Switch 2 won’t get Final Fantasy 7 Intergrade, but for now that’s all we have. Given the success of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, a future port is likely. And since the third and final installment is expected, it will probably follow suit as well.
