As a longtime fan who has journeyed through countless worlds in Final Fantasy games, I can hardly contain my excitement for the upcoming release of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC. With its stunning graphics and immersive storyline, this game promises to be an unforgettable adventure.

Square Enix recently revealed the official system requirements for running Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on PC. The PC port of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was announced during The Game Awards on December 12, and the RPG will be available on Steam and the Epic Games Store on January 23, 2025.

First debuting in early 2024, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” represents the second installment of the widely acclaimed remake trilogy for “Final Fantasy 7“. In this continuation, Cloud Strife and his team depart from Midgar city, venturing into new destinations like Gold Saucer, Cosmo Canyon, and Nibelheim. Upon its release, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” garnered exceptional reviews due to its lauded combat system, captivating characters, expansive open-world environments, and engaging side quests.

With the announcement that “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” will be available on PC, Square Enix has disclosed the game’s system requirements, which are quite demanding. A minimum of 16 GB RAM is necessary, along with a generous amount of storage space, as the game requires an SSD with at least 155 GB free. For CPUs, running the game at Low settings with 30 FPS and 1080p resolution only needs an AMD Ryzen 5 1400 or Intel Core i3 8100. To achieve 60 FPS at 2160p, more powerful CPUs like the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X or Intel Core i7 10700 are required, which is typical for recent major releases. The recommended GPUs include the AMD RX 6600, Intel A580, or Nvidia RTX 2060 for Low settings, the AMD RX 6700 XT or Nvidia RTX 2070 for Medium, and the AMD RX 7900 XTX and Nvidia RTX 4080 for High. Lastly, gamers must use Windows 10 or 11 to play “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”.

Unlike the prior release of “Final Fantasy 7 Remake”, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” won’t offer any additional content through DLC when it’s released for PC. Instead, players will have all the game’s content available to them upon purchase. As opposed to its PS5 counterpart, the PC version of the game boasts higher texture quality options, advanced lighting effects, and compatibility with Nvidia’s DLSS upscaling technology.

On the horizon, the PC version stands alone as the current-gen platform lacking any installments of the Final Fantasy 7 remake series within its library. Although director Naoki Hamaguchi has expressed admiration for Xbox and hinted at his desire to have the Final Fantasy 7 games available across all platforms, it’s currently just speculation that we might see a port appearing in the future. For now, fans should approach this news with a degree of skepticism.
