A trusted source has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is expected to launch on Xbox in 2026. We’ve also just received information about how the game will perform on the Switch 2.
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Switch 2 Gameplay Experience Could be the Same as PS5
In a recent Nintendo interview, Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake series, discussed the performance of Rebirth on the upcoming Switch 2 console. While he couldn’t share many details about future installments, Hamaguchi confirmed that both Rebirth and the third game in the remake series are being developed for the Switch 2.
Work on both games is moving forward for the Switch 2 and other systems. Hamaguchi explained that he prefers all versions of a game to be identical, ensuring players have the same experience no matter what hardware they’re using. He confirmed the Switch 2 version will play “pretty much exactly” like the versions on other platforms.
The director of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake believes a different person should lead the development of the Final Fantasy 6 Remake. They also say the core gameplay for the third part of the remake project is largely finished.
