Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade: How to Get Materia Behind Fan in Reactor 5

While materia is crucial in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, some can be easily overlooked. For example, there’s a piece hidden behind a fan in Reactor 5 during chapter six.

When you first see this materia near the spinning blades, Tifa will point it out, but you can’t reach it yet. It’s worth going back for, though – it unlocks one of the most helpful summons in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

How to Get the Materia Behind the Fan in Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade

Stop the Fans in Chapter 6

First, complete the chapter as usual until you’ve turned off all the sunlamps. When you get back to the area near the fan, don’t continue forward onto the large Cargo platform heading south. Instead, take the gondola west to reach a ladder.

If you hear Barret start singing about a treasure hunt, you’re on the correct path. Don’t forget to grab the ‘Electric de Chocobo’ music disc from the vending machine before climbing the ladder, and use the terminal when you’re ready to proceed.

Once you activate the first terminal, the fan will stop and a hidden door will open near the vending machine. You need to go through this door, defeat all the enemies in the room, and reach the far end to activate another terminal – all within one minute.

Players can try this as often as they like, so failing doesn’t matter at first.

Once you finish the challenge, the door will unlock and the fans will stop spinning. This lets you collect the Chocobo and Moogle summoning materia, which also earns you the Cleanup Crew trophy or achievement.

This summon offers powerful area-of-effect attacks, both up close with Chocobo Kick and from a distance with Moogle Blast, making it a great asset to Cloud’s team. Plus, when the summon’s duration ends, a group of Chocobos will rush in and damage enemies.
