As a huge fan, I was really happy to hear that the team is listening to what players thought about the pacing in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Naoki Hamaguchi, the game director, said they’re taking that feedback into account when they finish up the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy. We still don’t know what the final game will be called, but it sounds like it might be a bit more streamlined than Rebirth was. I’m excited to see how it all comes together!
Unlike the more focused setting of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth offers a vast, open world to explore, with destinations like Jeuno and Costa del Sol leading to the Forgotten Capital. The game also features a huge number of side quests, including a lengthy one that unlocks the Gilgamesh Summoning Materia. However, some fans felt the game’s pace slowed down during the middle sections due to the length and placement of these quests within the overall story.
Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s Final Part Will Be More Concise Than Rebirth
The director of Final Fantasy 7 Remake shared some updates with fans at Brazil Game Show 2025, responding to feedback about the second game. He explained that Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be more focused in its storytelling, with a better balance between the main story and side quests compared to Rebirth. While the final part of the FF7 Remake will still be substantial – the first two games covered only the first disc of the original Final Fantasy 7 – the team is aiming for a faster and more consistent pace by carefully managing the amount of content.

Even though some players had concerns, the game director, Hamaguchi, believes that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth wasn’t overly long, either in its main story or side quests. He’s confident the conclusion to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake series will please longtime fans and newcomers alike. Currently, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 doesn’t have a confirmed title, but development is progressing well.

Square Enix is planning a release for Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 and has a target date in mind, though they haven’t shared specifics yet. With the overall direction of the game’s development now set, fans can likely expect more information soon.
