In Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the side quest ‘The Party Never Stops’ takes place in the lively Wall Market. It involves traveling around and meeting interesting characters, but whether you can start it depends on choices you’ve made earlier in the game.
This isn’t a typical side quest in Final Fantasy VII Remake. How it unfolds actually changes depending on the Materia you’ve equipped. This guide will walk you through all the possible outcomes and help you locate up to three hidden, sick characters who aren’t marked on your map.
How to Unlock Chocobo Sam’s Quests in Final Fantasy 7 Remake
Before you reach Chapter 9, ‘The Town That Never Sleeps,’ all players of FF7 Remake will play through the same missions. But as Chapter 9 unfolds, your choices will subtly affect which side quests become available later in the game. These decisions will split the game into two distinct paths: one focused on Chocobo Sam’s quests, and another revolving around Madam M’s.
You’ll meet both characters while progressing through the main story and attempting to rescue Tifa from Don Corneo. However, the specific side quests available depend on which character’s storyline you follow. If you help Chocobo Sam, you’ll unlock ‘The Party Never Stops’ and ‘The Price of Thievery.’ If you side with Madam M, you’ll unlock ‘A Dynamite Body’ and ‘Shears’ Counterattack.’ The only reward difference is that completing ‘The Price of Thievery’ gives you a Real Calling Card, but this item doesn’t affect gameplay.
To unlock the ‘The Party Never Stops’ quest, you need to make specific choices. The first opportunity to do so appears when you talk to Chocobo Sam right before you go into Wall Market.
- When Sam wants you to guess the outcome of a coin flip, choose heads or tails.
- When describing Tifa to Sam, say she’s “in great shape.”
- Agree with Johnny once you’ve completed the Discovery, ‘Vagabond Johnny.’ You will see this as part of the main quest, on the way to Corneo’s Mansion.
- Choose the Poor Man’s Massage when offered by Madam M.
- Say Aerith’s current outfit is “alright.”
- Decline the offer of a room by the innkeeper.
- Drink the mystery drink in the side area while waiting for the first Colosseum fight, when given the chance.
If you follow these steps, you’ll be on track to unlock ‘The Party Never Stops’ with Chocobo Sam!
How Your Materia Level Impacts The Party Never Stops in FF7 Remake
During this optional quest, having certain Materia equipped can change what you receive. For example, when searching for ‘The Sauce’ at a Materia shop, if you’ve used the Assess Materia on enough enemies, you’ll also earn Vitalabrew, Crimson Spike, and a Moogle Medal.
You’ll eventually visit the restaurant owner, who needs your help figuring out why his food quality has dropped. Cloud can give better advice based on which type of Materia you’ve leveled up the most – Fire, Ice, or Lightning. Let us know which one is your strongest – that will help us pinpoint the problem.
- Stove means fire.
- Fridge means ice.
- Power supply means lightning.
Once you get a Materia to level 2, you’ll receive a Remedy and a Moogle Medal when you bring it to level 3. No matter what, you’ll also get the Medicine Voucher needed to continue with the quest.
FF7 Remake Sick People Locations
Finally, your Materia affects the quest when a pharmacist asks you to help sick people. The number of sick people you need to heal depends on your Cleansing Materia’s level – level 1 means one person, and it increases from there.
- The first sick person is in the toilet in the corner of the Drunkard’s Den.
- The second is in the alley near the Honey Bee Inn.
- The final sick person is south of the Massage Parlor.
After you locate and assist the sick individuals, you’ll receive a Turbo Ether as a reward, and your HP and MP will be completely replenished, depending on your Cleansing Materia level.
