Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Be Close to 100GB on Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will need around 100GB of storage space.

There’s been a lot of talk about the third part of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake, and the developers are even thinking about starting a completely new game after it’s released. Right now, they’re still working on bringing Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade to the Switch 2, and it looks like the game will take up nearly half of the console’s storage space.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Will Take Up Almost Half of Switch 2’s Storage Space

Okay, so I just saw the news about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on the Switch 2, and the storage space needed is bigger than we thought. Originally, it was going to be around 87.8GB, but now the standard version will take up between 90GB and 95GB of space. If you’re planning on getting the Limited Early Purchase or Digital Deluxe Edition, you’ll need even more – between 93.8GB and 99GB! Nintendo’s updating the info on their store pages soon, so keep an eye out if you’re checking how much space you’ll need.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade is coming to the Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. Players will join Cloud Strife, a former soldier now working as a mercenary, and the group Avalanche as they fight to save the planet. The story begins with their attempt to destroy Reactor 1. This version of the game also includes the “Episode Intermission” content, letting players take control of Yuffie Kisaragi, a ninja from Wutai, as she tries to steal powerful materia from the Shinra Electric Power Company within Midgar.

There’s some news about Final Fantasy games: a remake of Final Fantasy 9 may be temporarily paused, but the Final Fantasy 7 Remake trilogy is confirmed to be coming to Xbox and the new Switch 2 console. We’re also curious to hear your thoughts on how much storage space Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade will need on the Switch 2.
