Final Fantasy XVI coming to PC next month

As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt, I can confidently say that the announcement of Final Fantasy XVI coming to PC is nothing short of exhilarating. I’ve been a fan of the series since its inception and have eagerly awaited this installment. The demo, now available, offers a tantalizing glimpse into the world of Clive Rosfield, a protagonist whose journey promises to be as captivating as it is challenging.

Today, Square Enix has unveiled that the highly anticipated action RPG, Final Fantasy XVI, will be available on Steam and Epic Games Store starting September 17. To help players get ready for their upcoming journey, a free demo is now accessible. Additionally, fans can pre-order the game right away, with options for either the Standard Edition featuring just the main game or the Complete Edition which includes both DLC expansions titled “Echoes of the Fallen” and “The Rising Tide.” Those who choose to pre-purchase will also receive some in-game bonuses like the Brave Blade Weapon, Cait Sith Charm (Gil Boost Accessory), and the “Sixteen Bells” Orchestral Roll.

As someone who has spent years studying mythology and folklore, I find myself captivated by the story of Clive Rosfield, a character whose tale echoes with a timeless heroism that resonates deeply within me. With his title as “First Shield of Rosaria” and his sworn duty to protect his younger brother Joshua, the Dominant of the Phoenix, I can’t help but be reminded of the many tales throughout history where brothers are bound together by fate, destined for greatness or tragedy.

If you’re eager to test the Final Fantasy XVI demo on your PC, it offers a glimpse into the game’s opening prologue when Clive is still young. This means any progress made during the demo can be continued in the full game upon its release. Additionally, the “Eikonic Challenge” Mode is included, which allows players to engage in thrilling, chaotic battles utilizing diverse Eikonic Abilities without charge.

Previously, we assessed Final Fantasy XVI and expressed that the game is massive and bold in scope, seldom stumbling. Its narrative is captivating and humorous, featuring a host of intriguing characters to connect with and ultimately care for deeply. Clive is an outstanding lead character, and his companions gradually grow into individuals you feel compelled to safeguard with every fiber of your existence. The combat system offers multiple layers, ensuring there’s always something new to discover that helps in the fight against the sinister forces lurking in the shadows. Although some battles may become cluttered due to numerous moving components and occasionally awkward camera angles, there isn’t much negative criticism I can offer. Square Enix has truly excelled themselves, creating one of the most substantial Final Fantasy titles ever produced. And yes, that praise extends to FFVII as well.
