This guide contains information that reveals key elements about the beginning of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Players who wish to experience the game without any spoilers should be aware that proceeding with this guide means they will reach a significant turning point.
At the beginning of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry and Hans Capon embark on a journey to Trosky, carrying a message for Otto von Bergow. Accompanying them is a group of men, whom players can learn more about when the party takes a break for the night by a serene lake. The men in question are Oats, Tankard, Konrad, and Nicholas from Rattay.
Each character serves not only as a tutorial for new and returning players regarding certain game mechanics, but also has their own distinct personality, aspirations, and dreams. In the early stages of the game, you’ll have ample opportunity to familiarize yourself with these characters. Regrettably, a bandit horde invades their camp later on, leading to their brutal demise.
As a gamer, I find myself in a heart-wrenching situation, where Henry and Hans miraculously make it out alive. We vow to revisit this spot later and provide them with the burial they deserve, according to our Christian beliefs. However, as the game unfolds, locating this specific area isn’t straightforward, especially in the initial stages. There’s no notable point of interest or marker on the map to help guide us there. It’s a challenging task, but I’m determined to find it and uncover what happened to our former comrades.
Where To Find the Graves for Hans’ Company
In the sequel to “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2”, players will have to retrace their steps to the vicinity of Rocktower Pond to locate Oats and the rest of the company. The exact spot, you should know, is situated on the opposite side of the pond from the Nomad’s Camp.
As a dedicated player, if I embark on the Bird of Prey quest, I might stumble upon the site myself. Upon encountering the poacher, he could divulge information about the ambush he witnessed. Interestingly, his camp is situated right above where Oats and the rest of the company met their end. To unearth the original camping location where they rested, all I need to do is follow the path downhill from the poacher’s camp and take a left on the road.
Despite not having the current quest, it’s still feasible for players to locate the graves of Oats, Tankard, Konrad, and Nicholas. All they have to do is journey to the spot indicated on the map provided below:
(I’ve tried to make the sentence more conversational while maintaining clarity and brevity.)

Upon reaching the location, players might stumble upon a bandit camp already established. Given the number of bandits, players may need to approach the situation adaptably based on Henry’s current strength. For instance, those with a heavily fortified Henry might opt for a direct confrontation, as they are more capable of engaging in physical combat.
For early-arriving players in “Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2”, it’s suggested to acquire some poison and surreptitiously add it to the cooking pot within the camp. Alternatively, those with a dagger can stealthily enter the camp and assassinate the sleeping bandits.
Regardless of how the players choose to deal with the bandits, once their camp has been cleared, they can thoroughly investigate the site. Notably, they’ll find recently disturbed graves with three crosses nearby, which marks the burial ground of Sir Hans Capon’s fallen company.
As I tread towards the graveyard, there’s no conversation to be had. Strangely, the game doesn’t allow me to engage with the crosses for a moment of silent prayer either. During their recent Twitch stream about Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, developers mentioned they intend to incorporate an interaction here in the future. For now, it seems this area serves as a solemn spot where we, the players, can pay our respects in silence.
It’s peculiar that there are only three crosses at the burial site, given that four men from the company perished. This could potentially be another inconsistency that the developers aim to rectify in an upcoming update. Alternatively, it’s possible that one of the company’s members miraculously survived.
In the sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance, if players aim to locate the burial site of Hans’ defunct company, they should retrace their steps to Rocktower Pond and search for the old camping ground. To enhance the adventure, they can engage in some role-playing from there onwards.
