In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there are numerous castles scattered across every province that players can explore for XP and top-tier loot. But the fun doesn’t stop with the open loot; each castle also holds a key, which opens outdoor storage sheds filled with valuable resources for your Hideout and character improvement. However, the Yamazaki Castle Kura Key is notoriously elusive, as it’s hidden in a secret location instead of being guarded. Here’s a guide to help you find it.

Yamazaki Castle Location

In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” the Yamazaki Castle can be located within the Yamazaki district of the Yamashiro province. Perched on a hill, the castle is reached by traveling north from Takatsuki town and following the road leading to its entrance.

Following their arrival at the castle, players will uncover that they must locate and vanquish five Samurai Swords to unlock the fabled treasure chest. Given the immense size of the castle, it’s no surprise there are numerous samurai present. But for now, we should prioritize finding the Yamazaki Castle Kura key first before taking on the samurai.

Where to Find Yamazaki Castle Kura Key in Assassin’s Creed Shadows

To locate the Yamazaki Castle Kura Key in AC Shadows, make your way to the southernmost section of the castle (as shown in the image above). Explore the area until you come across a red bridge that’s protected by a Samurai Daisho. You have two options: you can choose to fight him and emerge victorious, or you can sneak past him undetected.

To your right, as you cross the bridge, there is a narrow passageway that players can access. Aim your gaze in that direction and you’ll come across a dead peasant whose body carries a loot symbol. Search the corpse to obtain the Yamazaki Castle Kura Key.

Currently, players have the ability to unlock and search sheds situated within the castle perimeter for transporting supply crates back to their secret base. In Yamazaki Castle, there are two such sheds to discover; be sure to empty them before moving forward. Alternatively, players can either leave the castle or vanquish the remaining Samurai Daisho to access a hidden chest atop Yamazaki Castle, rewarding the prized Yurei-Walker Hood headgear.
