Finding Harry Gets A Trailer And A Premiere Date

As a huge Harry Potter fan, I’m so excited for the new HBO Max series, Finding Harry: The Craft Behind the Magic, which starts streaming on April 5, 2026! The preview just dropped, and it’s amazing – it opens with Hagrid, played by Nick Frost, leading students through the woods. John Lithgow, who’s taking on the role of Dumbledore, calls the Harry Potter stories a truly incredible phenomenon. We get some beautiful shots of Hogwarts, and a peek at Harry making his way to Platform 9¾ all by himself. It looks like the series will really delve into how they brought everything to life, like the Hogwarts Express and all the magical details. And of course, we get glimpses of the Golden Trio! It’s a really special, behind-the-scenes look at the making of this iconic series.

Janet McTeer, playing Minerva McGonagall, was struck by the impressive scale of the Great Hall, especially while filming the Sorting Ceremony. She recalled being immediately awestruck when she first saw the set. The production team promises a new level of detail and craftsmanship audiences haven’t experienced before. We also get a glimpse of the actors playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione – Dominic McLaughlin, Alastair Stout, and Arabella Stanton – as they rehearse, connect with each other, and enjoy the process of becoming their characters. John Lithgow sums up the HBO Max series by saying it was a long-awaited opportunity to create something truly meaningful for fans.
