However, the opening episode of Season 3 did an impressive job of quickly catching me up on key events. It detailed the collaborative efforts of Company 8 with other allied forces, emphasizing the diverse group of allies Captain Obi and his team had amassed.

Things appeared to be progressing smoothly until suddenly, soldiers from the Tokyo Imperial Army arrived, accompanied by White-Clad prisoners in tow, intent on apprehending the captain.

The situation has left many supporters anxious about the well-being of the revered leader of the 8th, but subsequent events have added to their concerns. Upon being called for an audience with King Raffless III, Captain Leonard Burns, Karim Flam, Onyango, and Huo Yan Li were taken aback to discover White-Clad among the attendees. It was revealed that the Pillars, who are said to be devoted followers of Sol by none other than Raffles himself, have formed an alliance with the Empire in their quest to transform the planet into a second sun. Utilizing her power, “Talking Head”, Haumea successfully persuaded Leonard to join their cause. This sudden shift in loyalty was followed by Company 8 learning about their captain’s detainment and making a commitment to unite and work towards his rescue.

The team is currently in hiding, evading pursuit by imperial forces after the dissolution of their company.

As Licht unveils his mysterious associate, Joker, the gravity of their predicament becomes strikingly clear. This elusive figure proposes to guide the outcast team in adapting to a life of outlawry. With hesitation, they follow him towards an exposed sewer opening. The improbable duo then guides them to their covert underground lair, easily identifiable by a distinctive label. Once within, Licht and Joker disclose that Obi’s whereabouts have already been determined: Fuchu Penitentiary.

In an upcoming scene, Haumea and Leonard engage in a discussion that underscores Captain Haumea’s newfound trust in the Evangelist and their beliefs. His perspective on human combustion has noticeably shifted, viewing it as a challenge to be conquered by Sol’s followers. They both express the desire for Obi to partake in this joy. A figure in white, named Gold, encounters the imprisoned Obi with a bottle of insects and levitating coins, discussing the worth of money. She promises him that he will be released as an infernal. It’s clear that Akitaru is currently facing a serious threat.

Simultaneously, a conversation takes place between them and Shinra on their journey towards Obi’s rescue. Joker shares his motivation for assisting them stems from his belief in both Obi and Kusakabe themselves, explaining that his extended period of living in the dark makes it simpler to recognize genuine beacons of light. After reminding Shinra of the immense power of their adversaries, Joker guarantees him his protection.
