Fire Force Season 3, Episode 19 Preview: The Apocalypse Begins

The final arc of Fire Force is reaching a thrilling climax. The third season’s last episodes are packed with intense action and surprising twists. The appearance of massive Pillars and incredibly powerful Infernals has already thrown Tokyo into chaos, but things are about to get much worse thanks to Giovanni’s plans. Episode 18 showcased an amazing fight between Giovanni and the team from Vulcan, and now, the heroes are facing a dire situation because of a solution devised by Pi.

Episode 19 of Fire Force is set to escalate the story’s climax with the appearance of an impossible key. Throughout the series, the world has faced a growing threat, but the impending apocalypse isn’t a spontaneous event. It’s a carefully orchestrated plan unfolding in stages, and the next phase – heavily featured in this episode – promises to dramatically change everything. It seems the mystery surrounding ‘Pi’ has been solved, and now the key is being used, with no one able to intervene.

Charon Won’t Let Company 8 Rescue Vulcan’s Team

Charon Wants a New Life For Haumea

In Episode 18, “Incantation of Destruction,” Lieutenant Hinawa, Maki Oze, and Tamaki Kotatsu desperately tried to reach Vulcan’s team inside the massive Amaterasu structure, but couldn’t get in. The White-Clad cult blocked them, emphasizing that the delay wasn’t their fault, but rather a problem with the fire soldiers themselves. Meanwhile, Charon revealed his motivation for supporting the Great Cataclysm: he wants to create a world where his companion, Haumea, won’t have to endure the constant pain of feeling everyone’s despair, a burden she’s carried her entire life. This explains why Charon will likely continue to fight against the fire soldiers in Episode 19.

That scene was short and ended without a resolution, meaning we won’t get answers until the next episode at the earliest. The fight is intentionally being prolonged, as Charon is fiercely protecting Amaterasu’s doors so Haumea can claim a peaceful world, even if it means others suffer. Despite being seriously wounded and shot multiple times by Lieutenant Hinawa, Charon remains standing, even with a large portion of his body damaged. This is a classic endurance battle, and fans of action anime know how long these can last to showcase a character’s strength. Hinawa and her team now need to find a new strategy to defeat Charon, as their current approach isn’t working. It’s time for Company 8 to think outside the box again.

The most compelling fights in action-packed anime like Fire Force are driven by personal stakes, and the recent battle between Charon and Hinawa perfectly illustrates this. However, the series hasn’t lost sight of the larger conflict. Episode 18 focused on building towards a massive upcoming battle, starting with Episode 19. While Charon is a threat to Company 8 and their goal of reaching Amaterasu, he’s not the only one. Ritsu, the leader of the Knights of the Purple Smoke, is also preparing for war. Though she only appeared briefly in Episode 18, the sheer size of her undead army hints that she’ll play a major role in determining the fate of the Tokyo Empire. All of this is happening as a strange, ominous moon – the Soul Eater – hangs in the sky, adding to the unsettling atmosphere.

Ritsu hasn’t been a major threat in Fire Force yet, and we haven’t seen the full extent of her powers. However, that’s about to change. In the upcoming episodes, Ritsu is poised to launch a powerful attack on Company 8, backed by a large army. She’s taking over Charon’s role and will put a lot of pressure on the team. Unless Maki, Tamaki, and Hinawa have a new strategy, Company 8 might be overwhelmed. Ritsu’s strength lies in her sheer numbers, and her army of Infernals will bring back the “monster hunting” feel that defined Fire Force earlier in the series. While dealing with Infernals used to seem like a simpler task, the stakes are about to get much higher.

Yu is the Key to Giovanni’s Final Victory

Vulcan Needs a Personal Win in Episode 19

Although the upcoming battle with Charon and Ritsu will likely be important, the main focus of Fire Force Episode 19 is the mysterious villain Giovanni and the troubled Vulcan Joseph. Their confrontation in Episode 18 seemed to end with Giovanni’s defeat, but he surprisingly possessed Yu as an insect at the very last moment. Now, Yu has been transformed into a disturbing, cartoonish creature speaking with Giovanni’s voice, and crucially, he’s standing near the keyhole. He also revealed something strange: that the infinite number pi has actually been solved.

The next episode, number 19, will likely center around the consequences of the ‘pi solution,’ which seems to be the trigger for a major disaster. The previous episode ended with Giovanni inserting a key into a hole, and episode 19 will show what happens next – either the villains achieve their goal, or something unexpected will interrupt them. Given the nature of Fire Force as a shonen anime, it’s probable that someone will intervene at the last moment to create suspense. Meanwhile, Vulcan, Lisa, and Viktor will be desperately trying to save Yu from Giovanni’s control, though it’s unclear if they’ll succeed. Arthur Boyle, the exiled knight, might be the key to finding a solution.

The conflict surrounding Yu is too compelling and Vulcan’s storyline has too much potential for Yu to simply be a pawn in Giovanni’s plan. Something significant will happen – either Yu will be freed and Giovanni defeated, or Vulcan will be forced to make a heartbreaking decision and destroy Yu to stop the final outcome. Regardless, viewers of Fire Force can expect a deeply emotional and impactful climax to Vulcan’s arc, especially considering the focus on his close relationships shown in Episode 18’s flashbacks.
