First-Ever Immersive Supporter Card in Pokemon TCG Pocket Unveiled!

The digital version of the Pokemon Trading Card Game, Pokemon TCG Pocket, has hinted at its inaugural Supporter card that offers an engaging experience. Developed by DeNA and The Pokemon Company, this mobile adaptation of the traditional Pokemon Trading Card Game seeks to replicate the physical game’s feel for users on smartphones. However, what truly sets it apart is its unique rarity category called “immersive.” These cards come with brief animations that make the depicted characters seem alive. It appears that one of the upcoming immersive cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket will initiate a new trend.

The rarity system in the ‘Pokemon TCG Pocket’ closely resembles that of the actual ‘Pokemon Trading Card Game’. It includes common, rare, and art variant versions of Pokemon and Trainer cards, with some appearing less frequently than others. Cards categorized as ‘shiny’ or ‘holographics’ fall into the ultra-rare category, with a drop rate typically below 1%. Despite functioning identically to their regular counterparts, their scarcity makes them extremely desirable. Many players are willing to invest real money in order to collect these rare items.

The upcoming expansion for the Pokemon TCG Pocket titled “Celestial Guardians (A3)” might stimulate a surge in microtransactions due to the introduction of the first Supporter card with an immersive element. This special treatment is bestowed upon Lillie, and enthusiasts are aware that innovations unique to the series often hold additional value within TCG communities. The trailer for Celestial Guardians hints at this immersive card featuring Lillie in her signature attire, including her distinctive hat. However, the animation ends abruptly, leaving fans excited about the possibility of obtaining this card.

Lillie is the First Immersive Support Card

Previously, the set of TCG Pocket, called Shining Revelry, had started a fresh trend by adding unusual versions of non-Pokemon cards that weren’t Pokemon. This expansion took players by surprise as it featured the first ever crown-rarity Poke Ball card, which is almost always needed in every deck. It appears that DeNA and The Pokemon Company intend to broaden the variety of rare cards with each new set they release, aiming for a more engaging experience in the upcoming one.

Lillie’s three-star version arrives at a moment when Professor Oak from ‘Pocket’ is yet to receive a two-star variant. Earlier this year, several players expressed dissatisfaction with the developers for neglecting the card and not providing it with the full-art treatment many feel it deserves. Though it remains uncertain whether the upcoming expansion will rectify this issue, some enthusiasts are humorously resisting the notion of a new Support character gaining an immersive variant first. Regardless, the TCG Pocket community is buzzing with anticipation about the Celestial Guardians set and can’t wait to witness the debut of the game’s first immersive Support card.
