First Hytale Early Access Update For January 13—Full Patch Notes Included

The Hytale team has just released a quick update to fix the biggest problems players were experiencing at launch, such as issues with connecting to the game, overall stability, the game launcher, and online services.

Hytale’s launch into early access has been incredibly successful for Hypixel Studios. The game’s creator announced that pre-orders have already covered the development costs for the next two years. Despite being in early access and still needing improvements, the developers have already released a quick update to fix some initial issues.

What’s New in Hytale Hotfix Update?

This Hytale update fixes the most important problems players have been experiencing since the game came out. More improvements and less serious issues will be addressed in future updates. To improve server connections, you’ll now see a message if authentication is required after the server starts. If a server connection is lost, the game will automatically switch to offline mode.

We’ve fixed several problems that were causing the game to crash, including when choosing hairstyles, saving screenshots if you have non-English folder names, and while using buckets. If you were experiencing crashes with buckets, you may need to delete and recreate those workbenches to resolve the issue. We also resolved a problem that prevented players in Norway from starting the game, corrected some incorrect mouse button settings, and made general improvements to make the game more stable.

The latest Hytale update includes several improvements to the game launcher. It now warns players if their computer’s date and time are wrong, and fixes a login problem some users were experiencing. A security issue where players could change their usernames has also been fixed. Finally, the update improves how the game downloads updates and how email services work.

  • Added message after server boot if authentication is required.

Stability

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when selecting certain hair styles followed by eyebrows in character creation.
  • Fixed a crash when taking screenshots for people with non-English folder names.
  • Fixed an issue preventing our Norwegian friends from launching the game.
  • Fixed a crash when using buckets. This broke some workbenches, they will need to be destroyed and placed back down to resolve the issue.
  • Preventing left mouse button from being bound to some actions.
  • General stability improvements.

Launcher

  • Added a warning to inform players if their computer time is out of date. This fixes certain authentication issues.
  • Fixed an authentication issue that happened sporadically when logging in.

Services

  • Patched a vulnerability that allowed players to spoof their username. (purely visual)
  • Improved caching of game patches globally.
  • Improved email sending service to handle larger volumes of emails.
