We’re getting our first glimpse of Sophie Turner as Lara Croft! Prime Video has revealed the first photos of her in costume for the new live-action Tomb Raider movie, which is the first since Alicia Vikander played the role in 2018.
Fans have had a varied reaction to the new Lara Croft casting, with the Tomb Raider community split on whether it’s a good choice. Prime Video is going with a more traditional take on Lara Croft, inspired by her original appearances in the games, but this approach isn’t universally popular.
Sophie Turner’s Lara Croft is Dividing Fans
Prime Video recently announced the cast for its upcoming live-action Tomb Raider series. While Sophie Turner was previously confirmed as the main character, several other actors have now joined the project, including:

People reacted to the post, with one commenter saying they couldn’t imagine anyone other than Angelina Jolie in the role. Another simply stated they didn’t see Lara Croft represented well.
The feedback is mixed but leaning in favor of the general acceptance of Turner’s portrayal.
