Foamstars Season Updates Ending In January

As a long-time gaming enthusiast with countless hours invested in various titles, I must confess that the news of Square Enix discontinuing updates for Foamstars has left me rather crestfallen. Having followed its development since its initial release, it’s disheartening to see such an innovative and vibrant game being put on ice so soon after its free-to-play transition.

Square Enix has decided to discontinue any further updates for the Foamstars series, barely a year following its initial launch.

On their game’s official site, the developers announced that the last seasonal updates for the game will be released on January 17, wrapping up the “Party Goes On!” season. To make the game more enjoyable, they are incorporating new elements in this final update to improve gameplay.

As an enthusiast, I can’t help but appreciate the feature that allows me to tailor each character’s shot and the addition of numerous upgrades.

After the “Party Goes One!” season concludes, all online services will continue to be accessible, as confirmed by Square Enix. Furthermore, they’ve got exciting plans to organize the Foamstars Cup, a sequence of in-game events, each named after a unique character.

Additionally, we’re bringing back the previous Season Passes for Foamstars so that newcomers can experience everything the game has to offer. You’re free to switch between these passes whenever you like, allowing you to progress along your preferred track and collect items from past seasons. This way, everyone can gather all the seasonal items.

Initially introduced for PlayStation in February 2024, the game Foamstars was unveiled with minimal excitement. However, it later became a free-to-play title in October, aiming to increase its user community.
