Reaching the Vox Relay Station in The Outer Worlds 2 presents a challenge. The direct path north is blocked by a raised bridge. While the southern entrance to the Bridge of the Reverent is controlled by the Protectorate, you can gain access by turning in two of their traitors. If your Speech skill isn’t high enough, completing the quest ‘For Whom the Bridge Tolls‘ in The Outer Worlds 2 will require a difficult choice.

Where to Find the Protectorate Traitors in The Outer Worlds 2

The quest ‘For Whom the Bridge Tolls’ begins by speaking with Senior Warden Weintraut at the southern end of the bridge. Be careful when exploring off the main path, as the area is filled with landmines. She’ll ask you to turn over two traitors from the Protectorate: Ida Rutledge and her cousin, Charlton Weintraut.

You’ll need a Speech skill of 3 or higher to convince Charlton to turn himself in to his superior. You can offer Inez instead if she’s with you, but she’ll leave your party permanently, so it’s best to avoid that option. Fortunately, there are six different ways to get across the Protectorate Bridge in The Outer Worlds 2, so this isn’t your only choice.

How to Find Ida Rutledge in The Outer Worlds 2

To find Ida, go to Spire Grove. You can reach it by repairing the mountain elevator using Engineering 3, or by going around the mountain and jumping across the rocks. If you choose to jump, follow the base of the mountain to the right, all the way around to the other side. The easiest place to jump is between Spire Grove and the Crabbing Tower, which is on the west coast of the island.

At the designated spot, you’ll find a person who has fallen to their death. Search their body for the P.A.L.E boots, which allow you to double jump. After that, examine the conveyor belt and collect the Grisly Severed Arm. This arm will serve as proof to the Senior Warden that one of the traitors is no longer alive.

How to Find Charlton Weintraut in The Outer Worlds 2

You can find Charlton in Westport, or potentially Fairfield if you’ve made progress in the ‘Brain Benders of Auntie’s Choice’ quest. However, start by going to his house in Westport.

Once you’re inside, check his computer for proof he’s a fan of Auntie’s Choice products, and then show him what you find. To get him to go to the bridge, you’ll need a Speech skill level of 3—just seeing the purple crumbs from Purpleberry Krunch on his mouth isn’t enough to convince him.

After you’ve completed everything, go back to the Senior Warden to finish the quest and unlock the northern part of Paradise Island.
