Former Battlefield 6 Director Marcus Lehto ‘Disappointed’ With Devs Being Omitted From Credits

Ridgeline Games played a key role in starting development of Battlefield 6, but the studio was shut down while the game was still being made after Marcus Lehto, a former director and VP, left the company. Lehto has since stated that he and other team members were not included in the game’s credits.

It’s disheartening when hard work isn’t recognized, and that seems to be what happened to the team at Ridgeline Games. They put a lot of effort into developing Battlefield 6 before the studio closed down.

Former Battlefield 6 Director Criticizes Game For Not Acknowledging Former Devs

Marcus Lehto was a leader at Battlefield from 2021 to 2024. He headed Ridgeline Games, a studio created in 2022 to develop the next Battlefield game, but left the project in 2024.

On October 20th, Lehto shared on LinkedIn that several of his previous colleagues from Ridgeline Games weren’t given proper credit in the latest Battlefield 6 release.

A former content creator shared a revised version of the Battlefield 6 credits, adding the names of developers who were initially left out. They pointed out that those who were included in the main credits were later moved to a simple “Special Thanks” section at the very end.

Lehto called this out:

The developers who built the core of this game worked incredibly hard for over a year, and up to two and a half years, before I left and the studio eventually closed. It was disappointing that, despite their major contributions, most of those laid off were only given a brief thanks at the very end of the game credits – and some weren’t credited at all, including me. I want to publicly acknowledge my talented colleagues and their hard work on this project, listing their names and roles as they deserved to be shown in the credits. Making a game is a collaborative effort, and everyone who contributed deserves proper recognition.

Honestly, reading the comments was awesome – everyone was super supportive of Lehto and the team. But there was also a lot of frustration that the game credits didn’t acknowledge all the people who actually worked on it, and people were rightfully calling that out.

It’s surprising to see this happening even now in 2025. We’d love to hear your opinions – join the conversation on our TopMob Discord server!

Here’s what’s trending in gaming: the team behind ARC Raiders is planning a decade of new content, there’s a chance Black Ops 7 could release a week earlier than expected, and don’t expect to hear about a Starfield version for PlayStation 5 anytime soon.
