Former Black Panther Devs Hired At Wizards Of The Coast For New Game

Wizards of the Coast has brought on board several developers who previously worked on EA’s abandoned Black Panther project to develop a fresh title within their organization.

In a recent chat with GamesIndustry.biz, Wizards of the Coast president John Hight shared that the new team leading their projects is headed by former Monolith Productions director Michael de Plater. He also mentioned that in addition to de Plater, Wizards of the Coast recruited 14 individuals who were previously employed at the recently shuttered Cliffhanger Studios.

As a thrilled enthusiast, I’m eagerly anticipating the emergence of the latest game, which is currently in its innovative, nurturing stage. Jason Hight hints that the creative process has commenced, albeit he remains tight-lipped about the specifics. However, his intriguing description of it as “something exceptionally exciting and novel” has certainly piqued my curiosity!

Concerning the release timeline for this novel game, High hasn’t set any specific deadlines yet. Instead, he expressed his desire to let the newly formed team take sufficient time to ensure everything is done correctly.

He mentioned that we’ll thoroughly explore various ideas, as this process might take some time due to the extensive nature of the concepts being considered.
