As a lifelong Counter-Strike enthusiast who has witnessed some of the most exhilarating moments in the game’s history, hearing s1mple’s recent statement about his potential return to competitive play has me buzzing with excitement! The Ukrainian prodigy, who has graced our screens with his incredible skill since 2016, has proven time and again that he is a force to be reckoned with.
For several months, the well-known Counter-Strike pro, Oleksandr ‘s1mple’ Kostyljev, has been keeping fans guessing about his return to the competitive scene of CS2. Previously a member of NAVI, he took a break from competition when Valve introduced CS2 into the tournament, a move that sparked much debate among players and spectators alike.
Now, the competitor has officially made a statement on whether he plans to return or not.
S1mple Breaks Silence On Return To Competitive Counter-Strike
Following NAVI’s triumphant performance at the Esports World Cup, whispers among fans swirled about when s1mple might grace us with his presence again. As the rumor mill churned, anticipation grew that this upcoming major LAN event could be the stage for his grand return to professional competition.
On his official Telegram page after IEM Cologne, s1mple expressed that there are certain topics which can be tough to discuss, yet his enthusiasm remains undimmed. He went on to say that he’s genuinely pleased with the team’s performance, but occasionally they seem to lack a required level of professionalism, which in turn leaves him feeling frustrated.
The 26-year-old Counter-Strike pro then expressed his need to get back out there.
“One day, I long to come back, as I’ve grown weary of idleness. When that day comes, there’s no doubt in my mind that I’ll be more robust – all I need is some time.”
Since the player joined the team in Counter-Strike back in 2016, one might wonder if we’ll be seeing s1mple make a comeback as a pro gamer soon. Is it possible that he plans to return, or will he delay his return home for an extended period?
