Forza Horizon 5 developers haven’t planned a physical release for the PS5.
Last month, it was announced that Playground Games’ much-loved racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is making its long-awaited debut on PS5. Instead of being a console exclusive to Xbox for years, it will now be available starting April 29th. Noteworthy, this digital-only release won’t have a physical disc version currently, as the developers are not planning one at the moment.
Following the formal unveiling of X, numerous gamers inquired about the possibility of Forza Horizon 5 being available in physical format on PS5. However, the developers have clarified and emphasized repeatedly within the thread that they do not presently intend to release it as a physical version. Moreover, they confirmed that there will be no cross-saving functionality between Xbox and PlayStation 5 versions of Forza Horizon 5.

On the PlayStation 5, players can enjoy Forza Horizon 5 in two different modes: Performance Mode, which offers a smooth 60 frames per second gameplay, or Quality Mode, providing stunning visuals at 30 frames per second. At launch, the game will support PlayStation 5 Pro with enhanced details for Performance Mode and realistic ray-traced car reflections during Races and Free Roam in Quality Mode.
The game is available in three versions: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium. The Standard version offers the basic game along with free content and the forthcoming Horizon Realms update. The Deluxe edition enhances your experience by providing an additional 42 cars through the Car Pass. The Premium edition offers all previous content plus both Forza Horizon 5 expansions, Rally Adventure and Hot Wheels, a VIP Membership, and bonus features from the Welcome Pack.
Ordering the top-tier version ahead of time grants players early access starting from April 25, 2025. Meanwhile, regular pre-orders come with a unique bonus package.
