For Xbox Game Pass subscribers, getting early access to Forza Horizon 6 – four days before its official release – will cost almost as much as buying the full game.
Okay, so the Xbox Developer Direct finally delivered! We got a release date for Forza Horizon 6, which is awesome, and a really good look at actual gameplay. They also showed us how much the game will cost and all the different editions you can get. One thing’s a bit annoying though – if you’re a Game Pass subscriber and want to play early, it’s going to cost us a little more than usual. It’s not free early access this time around.
Game Pass Members Have to Pay Almost the Price of a Standard Edition to Get Forza Horizon 6 Early Access
Forza Horizon 6 is now available at no extra cost for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers, but this includes only the standard version of the game. If you want to start playing four days early, or if you want the Premium Edition, it costs $119.99 (or the equivalent in your local currency). Game Pass members can upgrade to the Premium Edition for $59.99, and many players feel this upgrade price is too high.
Forza Horizon fans are upset about a price increase for the upgrade to the Premium Edition from Game Pass. While the upgrade for the previous game, Forza Horizon 5, cost $50, it now costs $60 – nearly the same price as the standard edition at $69.99. UK players are facing the same issue, with the upgrade costing £59.99, which matches the price of the standard game in that region.
I wanted to buy the upgrade Bundle for Horizon 6 and they decided to make it 60€ instead of the usual 40€.
