A recent leak suggests that Forza Horizon 6 might be released as soon as May 2026. The information comes from Xbox Infinite on X, who posted what they claim is a screenshot from the game. This screenshot details the contents of the Forza Horizon 6 Premium Edition and hints at early access dates, leading to speculation about a worldwide launch around that time.
Since its start in 2012, the Forza Horizon series has evolved significantly. Unlike the more realistic Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon offers a fun, arcade-style racing experience in an open world. Each game has been widely praised, and Forza Horizon 5 from 2021 received the highest scores, currently averaging 92 from top critics on OpenCritic and winning three awards at the 2021 Game Awards.
After a five-year wait, the popular racing game Forza Horizon is coming back this year, and players are anticipating a huge improvement over previous versions. Forza Horizon 6 will finally be set in Japan, a location fans have been requesting for a long time, allowing them to explore famous landmarks like Mount Fuji and the city of Tokyo. Recent leaks suggest the game might be released even sooner than expected.
Recent Forza Horizon 6 Leak Gives It a May 19, 2026 Release Date
On January 14th, an Xbox user named @XboxF10 shared a screenshot that appears to be from within Forza Horizon 5. The image shows a pre-order offer for Forza Horizon 6, promising players who pre-purchase the game an exclusive, pre-tuned Ferrari J50. The leaked image also claims Forza Horizon 6 will feature a roster of 550 cars. Most interestingly, the screenshot details the contents of the game’s Premium Edition.
A recent announcement indicates that players who buy the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 6 will get to start playing four days early, beginning on May 15th. This suggests the game will officially launch on May 19, 2026. While it’s important to remember that rumors aren’t always accurate, Xbox has offered similar early access perks with pre-orders of premium versions of games like Starfield and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle before. This potential May 2026 release date also aligns with information from leaker Nate The Hate, who previously stated that Forza Horizon 6 was aiming for a release in the first half of 2026.
Interestingly, no other source has been able to replicate this in-game message from Forza Horizon 5. When asked where it appeared, the person who originally shared it said it popped up right after leaving the garage, before starting to pick up their car. Xbox Era, which reported on the leak, also confirmed they couldn’t make the message appear in their own games.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer to see if the recent rumors about Forza Horizon 6 are true. The game is scheduled to be featured at the Xbox Developer Direct on January 22nd, where its release date will likely be announced. If the leaks are accurate, we could see an official confirmation of a May 2026 launch. May looks like a good time for the game, as Grand Theft Auto 6 is no longer planned for that month, and only 007 First Light and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight are currently slated for release towards the very end of the month.
