FragPunk closed beta test dates announced, new content revealed

As a seasoned gamer with decades of experience under my belt, I can’t help but feel a sense of excitement and nostalgia upon hearing about the upcoming FragPunk Closed Beta Test. Having played numerous shooters over the years, I find myself drawn to the unique blend of teamwork, strategy, and high-octane action that FragPunk promises.

At Tokyo Game Show 2024, NetEase Games unveiled fresh content for FragPunk and announced the schedule for its forthcoming closed beta tests.

From October 10th to October 21st, gamers will have the opportunity to try out the upcoming shooter from Bad Guitar Studio on both Steam and Xbox Series S|X. Notably, this test will support cross-play. For those who participated in the alpha test on Steam in June, you’ll be granted access to the closed beta directly through your Steam library for October. On the other hand, Xbox users can sign up via the Xbox Insider Hub app on their console. Meanwhile, interested Steam players can register on the official Steam page.

A new trailer has been released at the Xbox showcase during TGS, which you can see below:

In simple terms, the FragPunk Closed Beta Test is open to gamers residing in North America, Europe, Latin America, Japan, and Korea. The supported languages for this game version are English, Portuguese (Brazilian), Spanish, German, French, Japanese, and Korean. After the Beta Test concludes, all player information will be erased. But, those who took part will get unique in-game bonuses when the game officially launches.

In terms of the new content revealed, here’s the list:

  • Two new Lancers will be playable: Sonar and Spider. These characters have abilities that will buff their teammates, making them excellent support characters. They will debut alongside several brand-new powerful weapons that can enhance the arsenals of all the Lancers in the game.
  • New Shard Cards that can bend the rules of combat will also make their debut during the closed beta. These include the “Birdman” card, which lets players glide across the battlefield, two status effect cards involving flashbang effects that can be used to counter each other, named “Flashlight” and “Safety Glasses” to name just a few!

Xin Chang, the creative director and producer of FragPunk, announced: “The Closed Beta Test is coming up, offering players a brand-new perspective on FragPunk. This test allows us to gather valuable feedback that will help us fine-tune the game for an optimal balance of fun and fairness before its official release. We deeply appreciate the feedback we’ve received so far and can’t wait to share the game with even more players through this new test. If you’re interested, be sure to sign up for the FragPunk Closed Beta Test on Steam and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready to break some rules on October 10!
