In Arknights: Endfield, players who have a Designation Selection Permit can choose one free 6-star character from the Basic Headhunting Banner (also known as the Standard Banner). This banner features five different 6-star characters, each offering unique strengths and fitting into different team compositions. Choosing a free 6-star is a great way to improve your team, so this guide will review and rank all of the 6-star options available in Arknights: Endfield.
Ardelia
She’s Already Free, So Low Priority
Players received Ardelia shortly after the release of Arknights: Endfield, along with her unique weapon, making her a strong support character. While she’s excellent, she doesn’t quite reach the top tier. Increasing her Potential once boosts her Physical and Arts Vulnerability by 8%, which is beneficial, but not enough to make her a better pick than a fully upgraded 6-star character in Arknights: Endfield.
Ember
Redundant With Ardelia
In Arknights: Endfield, Ember is a powerful support character who excels at keeping her teammates alive. She’s incredibly durable and makes it difficult for enemies to defeat allies. Ember can also stun enemies with her skills, which is especially helpful for teams focused on physical damage, as it increases their vulnerability.
While Ember excels at keeping the team alive, she doesn’t have any abilities that directly boost their damage output. Players can equip her with items focused on support, but other characters can offer similar support and provide additional benefits. Ultimately, Ember is a powerful character for survivability, but her contributions stop there.
Lifeng
For Physical Team, But Only After Pogranichnik
As a Physical team player, I’m really excited about Lifeng! What makes him stand out is how he constantly adds Vulnerability stacks to enemies. A lot of characters, like Pogranichnik and the Main Character, need to use those Vulnerability stacks to do big damage with things like Crush or Breach. But Lifeng is different – his Knock Down skill keeps piling on the Vulnerability, which is awesome because it doesn’t actually remove any stacks. It’s a totally different way to approach things, and I think it’ll open up some really powerful team comps!
Lifeng deals significant damage, easily functioning as either a primary or secondary damage dealer for your team. He also boosts the team’s overall damage output by weakening enemies with Physical Susceptibility and providing a helpful Link buff through his Combo Skill. However, teams focused on Physical damage aren’t currently top-tier in Arknights: Endfield, making Lifeng a strong pick with potential for future improvements.
Pogranichnik
Core Character For Physical Teams
Pogranichnik is a powerful hybrid operator in Arknights: Endfield, excelling as both support and a secondary damage dealer. He’s essential for players aiming to create a strong Physical damage team. Pogranichnik weakens enemies by consuming their Vulnerability, applying a debuff called Breach which makes them take significantly more Physical damage from both him and his teammates. As a Vanguard, he also quickly restores Skill Points, allowing your team to use their powerful skills more often.
Pogranichnik’s Ultimate ability is incredibly helpful, boosting his team’s attack power, artifact effectiveness, and skill point recovery. While his damage output isn’t amazing, it’s perfectly acceptable considering he’s designed to provide support rather than deal high damage. Currently, there don’t appear to be any significant drawbacks to playing him.
Last Rite
Best DPS Behind Laevatain
Last Rite is a top-tier damage dealer in Arknights: Endfield. While she benefits from team support to maximize her abilities, the resulting power is significant. She can frequently use her skills even when not actively controlled, making her an effective secondary damage source alongside another operator. Overall, Last Rite offers the best damage output and team value of any character currently available on the standard banner in Arknights: Endfield.
Last Rite and her team need some setup time before they can really shine. It’s possible future characters will be stronger or faster, potentially making Last Rite less effective. However, that’s just guessing for now. As things stand, Last Rite is currently one of the top damage-dealing characters in Arknights: Endfield.
