Imagine if, instead of a farm, you inherited a graveyard in Stardew Valley. That’s the basic idea behind Graveyard Keeper. Normally, this game costs $19.99 on Steam, but right now you can get it for free and keep it forever as part of Steam’s Free to Keep event.
Steam regularly offers free games through its “Free to Keep” promotion, but there are other ways to get them too. Lenovo Gaming sometimes gives away free Steam keys – for example, they were giving away keys for Heavy Rain on April 15th. Plus, the sci-fi co-op game eWorlds is becoming a premium title on April 16th, so you can grab it for free with friends before then and keep playing! And if you like dark, cozy games, Graveyard Keeper was available for free until 12 pm Central Time on April 13th.

I’ve been playing Graveyard Keeper, and it’s a really interesting game where you build and run a graveyard. Visually, it reminds me a lot of Stardew Valley – it’s got a similar style, but definitely its own look. You do a lot of the same stuff too, like clearing land and trying to make money. But instead of a farm, you’re improving your graveyard. What’s cool is the game actually wants you to be a little… resourceful. It encourages you to find cheaper ways to do things, even if that means bending the rules a bit. It’s not totally different from Stardew Valley though, you still get that satisfying gameplay loop of building and managing things.
In Graveyard Keeper, you advance by unlocking new technologies and collecting resources – a familiar cycle for fans of farming simulations. You’ll spend time gathering materials, crafting items, and making everything as efficient as possible. Besides managing a graveyard, you can also farm, fish, explore dungeons similar to those in Stardew Valley, practice alchemy, and complete quests. The game is known for its dark humor and morally grey choices – you might even find yourself repurposing bodies! This unique combination of quirky storytelling and challenging themes offers a more complex and darkly humorous take on the relaxing life simulation genre.
Epic Games Store Also Has a Couple of Free PC Games
It’s hard to find a video game everyone loves. Some people might enjoy Graveyard Keeper, while others prefer Heavy Rain or eWorlds. Whatever your taste in games, it’s good to know that the Epic Games Store is currently giving away two free games.
