I’ve been playing a lot of gacha games lately, and I gotta say, Cookie Run: Kingdom is one of the most generous and easy to get into. It’s the sixth game in the Cookie Run series – it was announced back in November 2020 and officially launched globally in January 2021. Devsisters, the developers, really nailed it with this one. It grabbed both longtime fans of the Cookie Run universe and a ton of new players like me. It blew up pretty quickly – 10 million downloads in the first two months, and over 150 million by June 2021! A big part of what keeps me hooked is the story; it’s constantly expanding with new chapters in each update, so there’s always something new to discover.
I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz about this game, and I think part of it is because people were pretty disappointed with the anniversary rewards and how Genshin Impact handles its gacha system. This game uses a gacha system too – you basically collect new Cookies through it. They’re all different rarities, from pretty common to super rare ‘Legendary’ and ‘Beast’ ones, and you use them to battle in both story mode and against other players. As of February 2026, there are already over 175 Cookies you can collect, and the developers keep adding more with every update, which is exciting!
Cookie Run: Kingdom Named the Most Player-Friendly by Its Fans
Recently, over 1,000 fans of Cookie Run: Kingdom have praised it as one of the most welcoming games with a gacha system. A player on the game’s subreddit, Inevitable_Rich_549, shared that Cookie Run: Kingdom is the easiest gacha game to enjoy without spending any money. They’ve been playing for over five years and have collected all the characters simply by completing missions, which regularly award free Cookies. They also noted that the game gives out far more rewards and gifts than similar games, making it easier to progress and get new characters – sometimes even through special codes.

A recent post sparked a lot of agreement from over 1,000 players who feel Cookie Run: Kingdom has a much better system for getting new characters and rewards than Genshin Impact. Players highlighted that Cookie Run: Kingdom makes it easy to obtain powerful new characters through guaranteed systems and offers plenty of rewards through guilds, events, and arenas. Many also noted the game is friendly to free-to-play players, as you don’t need to collect every character to enjoy it – collecting becomes important mostly for challenging endgame content. Because of this, many fans believe it’s not controversial to call Cookie Run: Kingdom‘s gacha system player-friendly, as they haven’t seen anyone consider it unfair or exploitative.
Despite offering ways to spend money on things like extra storage and character customization, Cookie Run: Kingdom is fundamentally a free-to-play game. This means players can get new content and improvements without spending real money. The game involves building, expanding, and completing challenges, all of which require managing in-game resources. Luckily, these resources can be earned simply by playing and completing tasks, and dedicated players are often well-rewarded for their efforts, encouraging continued gameplay. While the game’s gacha system isn’t perfect, it demonstrates that these types of systems can be enjoyable for players if they’re balanced and feel fair.
