11-Bit Studios unveiled a fresh video featuring the opening cinematics for Frostpunk 2, which is set to launch on September 20th.
The game connects the storylines of its highly praised city-building and society survival series’ first and second installments, according to the studio. However, if you pre-order the digital deluxe edition, you can start playing it a week early on the 17th. Additionally, it will be available on Game Pass for PC, with the console release date to follow at a later time.

In this sequel’s opening scene, a video offers a poignant glimpse of the once-vigorous Captain from the initial installment, who was the backbone of New London during its prime. After 30 years of battling unforgiving snowstorms, the crumbling remnants of the British Empire struggle to stay alive. However, in his last moments, as he takes his final breath, the Captain comes to understand that simply surviving is no longer enough for the world as it stands today.
Is it possible that prolonged strife and selfless efforts could be dismantled due to internal conflicts among ideologies? Could the latest Leader of New London, however, bridge the political divides and instill hope in society, making them believe anew that New London can remain robust and resilient?

The studio explains that this video provides a brief tour of Frostpunk 2’s main features, highlighting the differences from the original game. The narration in this video is delivered by the citizens of New London, expressing their aspirations and apprehensions about the city’s future.
