As an avid gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt, I must say that Frostpunk 2 has caught my attention with its intriguing gameplay and the promise of continuous updates from 11 bit studios. The roadmap they’ve shared on Steam is a beacon of hope for those who have already dived into the frozen world of New London, and for those who are yet to experience it.
11-bit Studios, developers of Frostpunk 2, have unveiled the upcoming plans for the game through an official post on Steam.
The game was launched in September, but it’s only available on PC platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, and Windows for now. Since its release, the developers have made several updates, fixing issues, adding new features, and enhancing overall quality based on player feedback. They assure players that they are dedicated to providing an exceptional experience with Frostpunk 2, and there’s more to come in terms of content updates and expansions!

11 bit studios also touched upon the console launch and DLC, as follows:
- Consoles Launch. We know it’s something many of you are looking forward to, and we are extremely happy to bring New London to all the console players.
- DLCs. Although we’re keeping these under wraps for now, each DLC (currently under a codename – stay tuned for more updates!) will add something completely new to the harsh world of Frostpunk 2.
- Free Major Content Updates. On top of DLCs, we’re committed to adding free content updates, which in many ways were inspired by your feedback, that will significantly impact your overall experience with the game.
You read that right. Perhaps not a shock, but the console version is coming in 2025, after all.
Have no worries, these significant achievements are just a portion of what’s in store. Simultaneously, we will be diligently addressing bugs and enhancing the game and its overall performance through updates. We’re also eagerly preparing for Patch 1.2, which brings gameplay and interface adjustments – keep an eye out for further details on this soon.
It’s common knowledge that Frostland is a treacherous terrain, concealing secrets deep within its icy strata and time, leaving one always uncertain about the path it might guide you on and the revelations it could unearth should you probe deeply enough.
