The Frostspore Whale Shark is a very rare and sought-after fish available during Heartopia’s Winter Frost Season. Unlike regular Frostspore Fish, you can’t catch this special winter creature by simply fishing in the Old Sea – it’s a unique find!

Catching the Frostspore Whale Shark requires careful planning. This guide will show you everything you need to unlock and add this winter fish to your collection in Heartopia.

How to Unlock Frostspore Whale Shark

The Frostspore Whale Shark is a rare, legendary fish that’s only available during the Winter Frost Season event. You can’t catch it with normal fishing; it appears only during a special part of the Frostspore Fishing Event.

Okay, so if you want to catch that awesome Frostspore Whale Shark, you’ll need to unlock the Frostspore Fishing Events first. Basically, I had to go to Onsen Mountain and chat with Vanya, who’s like the expert on fishing in this game, to get things started.

During the Winter Frost Event, you can find her on the north beach. When you speak with her, select one of the dialogue options about the Winter Frost Season. She’ll then give you a quick quest about the unusual frozen waters around Heartopia.

After you finish this quest, Frostspore Fishing Events will be unlocked on your server. They’re free to participate in and start every day at 6 PM (server time).

How to Catch Frostspore Whale Shark

You can only find the Frostspore Whale Shark when a Frostspore Fishing Event is happening in the Old Sea, close to Onsen Mountain.

Whale Sharks don’t appear during every fishing trip. Instead, there’s a chance a special “Lucky” phase will activate. If it does, you’ll see a message saying there’s “hidden movement in the water.”

Okay, so here’s the deal: you need to see this message pop up. If you don’t, trust me, the Frostspore Whale Shark just won’t show up, no matter how long you spend trying to fish it up. It’s that simple – message or no shark!

Before you head out to fish for a Frostspore Whale Shark, double-check that your backpack has enough room and you’ve packed plenty of food to keep your energy up.

When the Lucky phase starts, there’s a random chance a Frostspore Whale Shark will appear among the fish silhouettes. It’s easy to spot because its shadow is much larger than those of other event fish.

Using Mermaid Fish Attractors and Perfume will both help you catch the Frostspore Whale Shark when the Lucky phase is active.

This fish is very uncommon, so even if you prepare perfectly, it might take a while to find. Don’t give up if you don’t see it immediately!
