As a long-time fanatic of both video games and Funko Pop collectibles, I must say that the upcoming release of “Funko Fusion” has me absolutely buzzing with excitement! The addition of Mega Man to the playable characters roster is just the cherry on top for this action-packed adventure game.

The action-packed game titled “Funko Fusion,” developed by 10:10 Games and due for release in September, has just announced the inclusion of Capcom’s famous character Mega Man. This announcement coincided with the launch of the PC demo for Funko Fusion, which includes the first level modeled after the world from John Carpenter’s 1982 horror movie “The Thing.”

2022 saw the announcement of a Funko Pop crossover event featuring various popular cultural properties such as Five Nights at Freddy’s, Masters of the Universe, and The Walking Dead. More recently, the lineup has expanded to include characters from Invincible, specifically Omni-Man and Mark Grayson, who exhibit their Viltrumite powers in combat through Funko Fusion.

Through a developer’s unveiling video, it was made official that Mega Man will be playable within the Steam demo of Funko Fusion, which is now downloadable for free. In this brief 40-second clip, we see the gun-toting character charging through various environments reminiscent of the full game. Moreover, the trailer has hinted at players’ ability to outfit Mega Man with his alternate red and yellow suit from Mega Man 11 as well as the Rush Suit.

Funko Fusion Welcomes Mega Man to the Playable Characters Roster

10:10 Games posted on the Steam page for Funko Fusion after the demo went live, expressing that this was the first opportunity for the public to play the game outside of recent timed demos at conventions, as they’ve spent three years developing it. The post also revealed that players can assume the roles of Freddy Fazbear and He-Man in the demo, alongside Mega Man, by locating hidden Pop boxes. Additionally, the developers have shared details about how they chose which intellectual properties to incorporate into Funko Fusion, explaining their decision-making process for selecting franchises.

The Mega Man series, a well-known Japanese game franchise managed by Capcom, boasts more than 100 video games under its name. Despite no new mainline releases since 2018, during their shareholders meeting, Capcom spoke about the future of Mega Man. Additionally, it was mentioned that the science fiction franchise has sold approximately 41 million copies so far, demonstrating the enduring popularity of the action-platformer series that’s been around for over three decades.

Funko has established a devoted fanbase of collectors, who eagerly invest their savings on coveted vinyl characters covering various pop culture domains. The upcoming third-person action game will honor specific fandoms by offering around 60 distinct playable characters, each equipped with personal weapons and signature moves. Engaging puzzle-solving, exploration, and intense combat sequences will add depth to the gameplay experience as players confront Eddy Funko, the main adversary in Funko Fusion, who is a mischievous counterpart of Freddy Funko.
