G915 X Lightspeed TKL Review: A Multi-Purpose Powerhouse With a Premium Profile

As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must confess that the Logitech G915 X Lightspeed TKL has left me utterly smitten. This keyboard, akin to a fine wine, has only improved with age, and it’s now my go-to peripheral for both gaming and work.

Recently, Logitech unveiled the latest lineup of sleek gaming keyboards, specifically the G915 X Lightspeed. I managed to obtain a TKL version of this model for evaluation, and for about two weeks now, it’s become my primary keyboard.

Prior to using the G915 X Lightspeed, I hadn’t experienced a ‘low-profile’ gaming keyboard. However, after giving it a try, I am convinced and believe that this expertly designed device appeals to me both as a gamer and someone who works at a desktop on a daily basis.

Low Profile, High Quality

At a quick glance, the G915 X Lightspeed TKL keyboard appears quite stylish. Its top plate, made of aluminum alloy in a brushed finish, gives it a premium look, as one would anticipate given its high-end price. The double-shot PBT keycaps are robust and long-lasting, yet they let the built-in RGB glow effortlessly, which is terrific news for gamers everywhere.

This keyboard stands just 23mm tall, making it one of the most compact low-profile keyboards available. However, its size doesn’t limit its functionality in any way. If you’re a speedy gamer playing games that demand quick reflexes and movement agility, the G915 X Lightspeed TKL is an obvious choice. Its 1.3mm actuation point guarantees lightning-fast response times.

Logitech’s Lightspeed connectivity seamlessly transitions across three devices and connection modes, all controllable with a single button press. As for the keyboard, although it might be a Tenkeyless (TKL) model, it offers all essential features, catering to various usage scenarios.

What I’m referring to is a comprehensive set of media controls, featuring an exquisitely responsive volume slider and various other keys designed to enhance the Lightspeed functionality. These keys are a joy to use – they’re made of soft-touch rubber and offer a satisfying tactile feedback, making me ponder taking them out of their bindings just to press them aimlessly.

Functional and Flawless

The Logitech G915 X Lightspeed TKL keyboard performs exceptionally well. Its keys are strategically spaced and placed for maximum agility, and with Logitech’s G Hub software, it offers extensive customization options. However, I find the layout slightly inconvenient as the enter/return key is a smaller key compared to most other keyboards I’ve used, which typically feature a larger key. Adjusting to this difference required some initial adaptation.

I’m quite fond of a TKL (tactile, compact layout) keyboard, and the G915 X Lightspeed TKL has become my top pick. From the discreet status lights at the keyboard’s peak to the richness of the RGB illumination, and from the swift linear switches I selected to the impressive 1000-hour battery life (pending terms of use), there’s much about this keyboard that leaves me impressed.

This device is roughly $199.99, which could be a potential downside for some users, but I’ve yet to discover any significant flaws or problems with it. I’ve penned numerous articles using it, and I’ve even played games like Escape from Tarkov and Fallout 76 on it without encountering any issues whatsoever.

This device offers wireless connectivity through Bluetooth or cables. It boasts an adjustable design with incredibly stable feet on its base, making it one of the most steady keyboards I’ve used in recent months. Eco-friendly is at its core, and it can link with multiple compatible devices using a single dongle.

This is such a fantastic keyboard, period.
