GALLERY: A Look At The Nintendo Switch 2 Console

On Thursday, Nintendo officially unveiled their upcoming console, the Nintendo Switch 2, with an expected release date in 2025. A two-minute video preview was shared, offering glimpses of the device from various angles. The handheld device, updated Joy-Cons, and a new docking station were among the features showcased.

Before the complete specifications are revealed, which is expected during the upcoming Nintendo Direct event in April 2nd, Nintendo has not kept secret any aspect of the system’s exterior design. The kickstand, dock, and the newly added USB-C port atop the device are just a few features that catch the eye. Here are the first images of the new Nintendo Switch (click on an image to expand it).

In the photos provided, several speculated characteristics were indeed validated. Instead of a slide rail, the latest Joy-Cons now adhere to the console using magnets. The revised dock, resembling the system itself, is more rounded. The Joy-Con color scheme aligns with that of the system, with red and blue serving as accents on the connector and under the thumbstick. The button previously depicted in mockups can now be found on the right controller; however, Nintendo appears to have left it empty to keep its purpose a secret.

In another location, you’ll find the previously mentioned second USB-C port situated at the system’s top. Additionally, the console’s kickstand has been refined, allowing the Switch 2 to lean almost completely flat with solid support.
