As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for epic stories and immersive worlds, I can’t help but feel the icy chill of anticipation coursing through my veins upon hearing about Game of Thrones: Kingsroad. With its roots deeply entrenched in the rich lore of Westeros, this open-world action RPG promises to be a journey that will take me from the frozen North to the sultry South, traversing lands both familiar and yet unexplored.
As a die-hard fan, I was thrilled to learn about an open-world action RPG set in the epic world of Game of Thrones at The Game Awards! It’s called “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad,” and it’s packed with familiar faces from the series, along with its iconic music that never fails to send shivers down my spine.

In Game of Thrones, the storyline “Kingsroad” unfolds after significant events in the third season, such as the Red Wedding and House Stark’s brink of annihilation. In this game, you assume the role of a bastard from the northern House Tyrell, who is called back home following an unforeseen act of treachery. Your journey takes you beyond the Wall in the north, and as far south as King’s Landing.
While journeying, you’ll encounter Jon Snow, a renowned character from the North, along with other series regulars like Cersei Lannister, Jaime Lannister, and Varys. As per the game’s official site, players can select one of three classes: the Knight who uses a longsword, the Sellsword who favors an axe, or the stealthy Assassin.
This game is being created by Netmarble, a well-known mobile game development company based in South Korea. On their official website, they’ve referred to it as an “epic storyline-focused action-adventure RPG.” At the moment, the game will only be available on Android and iOS devices.
