As a huge gaming fan, I’m so excited! The nominees for The Game Awards 2025 are out, and it feels like the show is just around the corner. I can’t wait to find out who wins, but honestly, I’m even more hyped for all the new game announcements! They always reveal so much cool stuff that’s coming out next year and beyond, and it gets me so pumped for the future of gaming.
Awards season is almost here, and like everyone else, I’ve been thinking about who’s going to win big this year. We asked our community what they thought, specifically wanting to know which multiplayer game they believe deserves the ‘best of 2025’ title. It’s fun to see what everyone’s predicting!
We Asked GR Readers To Predict The Multiplayer Game of the Year Winner

Okay, so The Game Awards nominations are out, and I was curious what other gamers thought. I asked the Game Rant community to rank the nominees for Multiplayer Game of the Year, and here’s how they voted!
Which game do you think deserves to win Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards 2025?
- ARC Raiders – 33% / 270 votes
- Other (A game that wasn’t nominated) – 18% / 152 votes
- Battlefield 6 – 18% / 152 votes
- PEAK – 12% / 99 votes
- Split Fiction – 10% / 81 votes
- Elden Ring Nightreign – 9% / 75 votes
Although it’s a new game, ARC Raiders is clearly the community’s favorite to win the best multiplayer game award. Battlefield 6 came in second, marking a strong comeback for the series, and many votes also went to games that weren’t even nominated. Multiplayer games performed exceptionally well this year, meaning other highly anticipated titles like R.E.P.O, Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, Borderlands 4, and Marvel Rivals (released late last year and therefore eligible) didn’t make it into the top five.
A big shock at this year’s Game Awards nominations was the exclusion of Split Fiction from the Game of the Year category. Many predicted it would be a frontrunner, but it seems a large number of excellent games led to it being overlooked. It’s also not expected to win Multiplayer Game of the Year, according to feedback from the GR community. Similarly, Elden Ring Nightreign faces an uphill battle, especially considering the high expectations set by its connection to a previous Game of the Year winner, and isn’t currently considered a likely winner in its category.
This year’s biggest surprise has been the indie game PEAK. Since its release earlier in the year, players have loved it, calling it a fun, lighthearted, and wonderfully chaotic experience to play with friends. The game doesn’t try to be serious, and that’s clearly resonated with players, allowing it to stand out even among much larger, more established titles.
It’s been a fantastic year for gaming, with 2025 delivering some especially great games to play with friends. While ARC Raiders is the frontrunner, any of the nominees could win the award. We’ll find out who takes home the prize on December 11th!
