There’s been talk in the Counter-Strike community about 100 Thieves planning a return, potentially with Håvard ‘rain’ Nygaard as their leader and players from GamerLegion. However, GamerLegion’s CEO has since stated that they haven’t agreed to sell any players.
CEO Nicolas Reber confirmed the organization had talks with 100 Thieves about a possible return to the game Counter-Strike. This adds weight to recent rumors that the Los Angeles-based company is planning to re-enter the Counter-Strike scene.
GamerLegion Isn’t Selling Players to 100 Thieves
In a post on social media, Nicolas Reber, CEO of GamerLegion, confirmed:
Guess its worth to share.
We spoke with 100 Thieves a few weeks ago about their plans to return to Counter-Strike, but currently, we aren’t discussing selling any players or key team members. Our focus is entirely on the current roster.
Lets get that 3rd place at @pglesports!
Okay, so they haven’t officially confirmed anything about the ‘rain’ thing yet, which means there’s still a chance that whole idea could be proven wrong. I’m still keeping an open mind, honestly!
It’s been ages since 100 Thieves was involved in Counter-Strike – like, over five years! A lot has changed since then, but with them potentially leaving League of Legends after Worlds, it feels like a good time for a new CS team to come up. Honestly, 100 Thieves doesn’t have many teams competing right now, and getting back into Counter-Strike would be a pretty natural fit for them.
There’s been some debate about whether 100 Thieves should sign players from GamerLegion. Some believe other teams would be a stronger choice, especially considering GamerLegion’s recent string of losses – they haven’t won a major tournament in over a year.
Okay, so I’m really curious about the rumors of 100 Thieves getting back into CS:GO. I’d love to hear everyone else’s thoughts – let’s chat about it over on the TopMob Discord!
