Games With Most Craftable Items

I’ve noticed crafting popping up in so many games lately, and it’s not just in survival games anymore! Some games keep it pretty simple with a few things you can make, while others really go all-out and make crafting a huge part of the experience. It’s awesome to see the variety – you can build anything from complicated factories to swords and armor, or even entire space stations. It’s really cool how different games approach it.

This list highlights games with the most items you can craft. It’s tough to get precise numbers, though. Defining what exactly counts as a craftable item can be tricky – things like different versions, upgrade levels, and complex recipes all add to the challenge. Plus, exact data for every game isn’t readily available. So, these are my best estimates, ordered from the fewest to the most craftable items.

No Man’s Sky

Several Hundred Craftable Items

Despite being last on this list, No Man’s Sky actually offers a huge number of things to craft. It’s a dream game for anyone who enjoys exploring alien planets and loves science fiction.

As you progress, making things – from personal space stations and starships to food, items, and exosuit upgrades – can become quite involved. There’s also Refining, which is similar to crafting but focuses on turning raw resources into more useful, processed materials.

Valheim

Around 300 Or More Craftable Items

Okay, so forget spaceships for a minute and imagine being a Viking! That’s what Valheim is all about. It’s a survival and crafting game set in a huge, open world, and it just keeps getting harder as you explore. Each new area you venture into is tougher than the last, which is super exciting!

To beat enemies and bosses, you’ll need to establish a base, improve your equipment, create potions and meals, and build tools. These tools are essential for gathering the resources you need to craft everything else. Just like in Minecraft, you’ll unlock new crafting recipes by expanding your base and finding new materials, so continuous improvement is key.

Vintage Story

At Least Over 300 Craftable Items

If you enjoy crafting games like Minecraft, Vintage Story offers a similar experience with a lot more depth and difficulty. It shares a lot of Minecraft‘s core ideas, but isn’t a copy – you’ll create items in unique ways, sometimes by shaping stone tools and other times using a standard crafting table.

Players will spend a significant amount of time collecting materials – through gathering, farming, and exploration – to forge weapons at a blacksmithing station using tools like a hammer and tongs. If you’re finding Minecraft too simple, this game is worth trying!

Minecraft

Over 500 Craftable Items

As a long-time player, I can tell you Minecraft is the ultimate open-world game where you can build and survive pretty much anything! There are a TON of things you can craft – easily over 500, if not more. They’ve been adding new stuff constantly, like different kinds of stone, brick, and wood. The cool thing is, as you find new materials, the game automatically unlocks new crafting recipes for you, and you can find them all neatly organized in your recipe book in your inventory.

You create these items using a crafting table. It’s a fairly simple system, but it offers a lot of variety. And if you want something more complex, you can explore redstone contraptions or even install mods – RLCraft or RLCraft Dregora are great choices! These mods provide endless hours of challenging gameplay, crafting, and RPG-style progression.

Factorio

Over 500 Craftable Items, Possibly Far More

I’m totally hooked on Factorio! It’s all about building up your factory, and honestly, there’s so much to make. If you’re the type of person who loves tinkering with tech, designing complicated systems, and finding the most efficient way to do things – or just messing around and seeing what happens – you’ll love it. Seriously, there are easily 500 different things you can craft, and that’s probably an understatement!

As you expand and automate your factory with new technology, the complexity grows rapidly. Similar to No Man’s Sky, you’ll also refine resources, which is treated as part of the crafting process to keep things simple. If you enjoyed the crafting in Minecraft with redstone, this game offers even more possibilities and is definitely worth trying.

7 Days To Die

Well Over 600 Craftable Items At Least

I’ve been playing 7 Days to Die a lot, and honestly, 600 hours feels like a low estimate – I think I’m closer to 700 or 800! It’s because there’s just so much to craft as you unlock upgrades and different versions of everything. It reminds me a lot of Vintage Story and Valheim in that way – you’ll need to build specific crafting stations if you want to make the better stuff.

If you want to create first aid kits, you’ll need a Chemistry Station – either find one or build it using materials you find. While the station can handle many items, building specialized stations will save you resources and time. Overall, this is a great choice for players who enjoy zombie survival games with detailed crafting and base-building elements.

Ark: Survival Evolved

Over 700 Craftable Items

If zombies aren’t appealing, you might prefer exploring a dinosaur-filled island in ARK: Survival Evolved. The game offers a huge range of items you can craft, including shelters, weapons, tools, and clothing.

In ARK, you learn new crafting recipes in two ways: through blueprints and engrams. Blueprints don’t cost any learning points but take up space in your inventory, while engrams are permanently unlocked recipes that do require learning points. There are a huge number of recipes to discover, and you’ll need thousands of learning points to unlock everything, including content from the game’s expansions. This means there’s always something new to craft and explore!

Conan Exiles

Possibly In The Thousands With All the Add-On Stuff

With a huge number of items – likely in the thousands – Conan Exiles is one of the most extensive crafting games available. As a survival game, it includes all the standard crafting categories: you can create everything from weapons and building materials to armor and tools for gathering resources to continue crafting.

Simply finding recipes isn’t enough to craft everything. You’ll need to gain Knowledge by leveling up, and each item requires a specific crafting station. For example, you’ll need a Blacksmith Bench for weapons and an Alchemist’s Bench for potions. As you progress, you’ll also upgrade these stations. It’s a complex, multi-stage crafting system.

Wurm Online

Thousands Of Items

It’s tough to say which game, Wurm Online or Terraria, has more crafting options, but let’s start with Wurm Online. It boasts thousands of items you can create. While some items need special tools, like an anvil for working with iron, most crafting is simple. You can combine items in your crafting menu, and even make multiple of the same item at once.

Keep in mind that each crafting recipe shows your chance of success. Knowing a recipe doesn’t guarantee you’ll be able to make the item – your skill level, and the quality of your materials and tools, play a big role. If that sounds interesting, you’ll find tons of recipes for everything from furniture and buildings to tools, weapons, and armor.

Terraria

Over 2000 Craftable Items

When it comes to games with lots of crafting, Terraria is a top contender, easily rivaling Minecraft. This fun 2D survival game, which also includes role-playing elements, has an incredible number of recipes. Just the variety of armor, weapons, and tools is huge, going from simple wizard robes to powerful Stardust armor. To get better gear, you’ll need to find improved tools, defeat bosses (either by finding them or summoning them), and mine different ores from your world.

That’s just the equipment, though. You can also design and furnish your house, cook food, brew potions, and gather building materials. Like many similar games, Terraria uses workstations like furnaces, sawmills, and looms to create new items. Once you defeat a specific boss and enter Hardmode, the game opens up with even more crafting options.
