GDC Remove ‘Iron Man’ Reference From Electronic Arts Schedule Page

A few days back, I shared news about Motive’s Iron Man being showcased during a summit at GDC coming up next week. Sharp-eyed gamers picked up on this, and it fueled speculation that the game might be demo-ready for GDC, one of the most significant gaming conferences out there.

It appears that the GDC admin team has taken away the mention of Iron Man from the same schedule page, which could imply either they are no longer planning to show the game or they are trying to keep the showing of the game as a surprise.

Iron Man No More

The initial plan for the schedule page announcing the Advanced Graphics Summit at GDC on March 17 featured a talk about texture set development, which was being done simultaneously at EA’s Motive studio for both Dead Space and Iron Man. However, after checking the page recently, it appears that the Iron Man reference has been taken out.

As a curious gamer, I can’t help but wonder if what I stumbled upon was an oversight or a secret meant to stay hidden a bit longer. In a matter of days, I’ll be heading to GDC in San Francisco, where journalists like myself will unravel the mystery and reveal the truth behind this intriguing discovery.

Since around 2022, Motive Studios has been developing an Iron Man video game, as we disclosed that playtesting for this project had commenced at that time. However, there has been limited information about its production progress since then, and even basic images of the game haven’t been shared yet.

I must admit, it seems like the world of superhero gaming isn’t exactly thriving at the moment, given the struggles faced by Wonder Woman and the setback experienced by Suicide Squad. However, that’s more of a concern for Warner Bros. Games, not me as a fan who’s still eagerly waiting for the next big hit!

What’s currently known is that the version of Iron Man from Motive Studios will be a standalone game played from a third-person perspective, designed for a single player, and utilizing the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5.

Would you be keen on getting the Iron Man character once it becomes available? Feel free to share your thoughts below in the comments, or discuss it on the TopMob forum.
