Some users even found the beta version to run more smoothly, making the full release feel like a step back in quality. In addition, several gamers have alleged false advertising, contending that advertisements prior to launch promised PC split-screen co-op functionality, which is absent in the current edition. The developers have responded with a statement acknowledging these issues and promising further investigation.

In their announcement, the creators of “Gears of War” acknowledged encountering performance glitches that lead to game crashes. They also confirmed that a significant number of Steam users are facing matchmaking troubles, and some players are unable to acquire their “Gears of War: Reloaded” pre-order incentives.
