Geff Grubb Shots Down Recent Titanfall 3 Rumor

For nearly ten years now, since the debut of Titanfall 2, there’s still no definitive update about the potential release date for its sequel.

Over the past few years, Respawn Entertainment has been primarily focused on creating Star Wars titles and maintaining Apex Legends, which is why many enthusiasts have been eagerly waiting for a new release from them.

Back then, I was thrilled to learn that a former team member from Respawn Entertainment had mentioned that they’d been working on Titanfall 3 for roughly 10 months. Unfortunately, the project was eventually shelved.

Nonetheless, there are whispers circulating that Titanfall 3 could be back in production once more.

Earlier today, a new leak suggested that the development of Titanfall 3 has almost been completed.

According to a source called Osvaldatore on platform X, it’s being stated that Titanfall 3 is being developed using Unreal Engine 5 and is nearly finished. This suggests that an official unveiling of the game might be happening very soon!

Furthermore, the source hinted at Titanfall 3 featuring not only a single-player story mode but also a multiplayer segment linked to a live service that includes battle passes, and it may include familiar Apex series characters reappearing.

All Hopes for Titanfall 3 Have Fallen

Shortly following the circulation of such rumors, trustworthy journalist Geff Grubb advised fans against crediting them. In the most recent edition of Game Breaking News, Geff Grubb himself emphasized this point.

“This isn’t real. I’m sorry. It’s not real.”

Don’t anticipate a standalone, single-player Titanfall 3 campaign using Unreal Engine 5 and its complete multiplayer mode. The source of such speculation seems uncertain, so it might be best not to hold your breath for Titanfall’s return just yet.

Does Steve Fukuda (the director of the first Titanfall game) have a prototype featuring titans? I’d bet on it. While I can’t confirm this, it seems like a reasonable assumption. However, will there be an announcement about it in 2025 followed by its release in 2026? Highly unlikely.

Besides discussing current projects, Grubb additionally touched upon past Respawn initiatives that were terminated by EA. One such project was Titanfall Legends, an innovative concept that aimed to merge aspects from both Titanfall and Apex Legends.
