This post contains spoilers for Jujutsu Kaisen.
Gege Akutami’s Jujutsu Kaisen is a hugely popular manga series, having sold over 100 million copies worldwide – a remarkable achievement. Its popularity is still growing, largely thanks to the fantastic anime adaptation.
MAPPA has elevated an already fantastic story with its anime adaptation, captivating fans who have been eagerly awaiting the next season. While the original Jujutsu Kaisen manga has finished its main run, a brief continuation is on the way.
Jujutsu Kaisen Returns To Jump Giga
JJK Will Be On The Cover Of Jump Giga
- JJK’s popularity is still on the rise
- The manga has sold more than 100 million copies
A new report confirms that Jujutsu Kaisen will feature on the cover of the Winter 2026 issue of Jump GIGA, with a specially created illustration. While this doesn’t guarantee the series will continue, it’s a good sign that Jujutsu Kaisen remains popular and is still capturing fans’ interest. It’s important to remember that the cover art doesn’t confirm a return, but it shouldn’t be dismissed either.
Even though Gege Akutami hasn’t been fully healthy, he’s back at work with Shueisha on a sequel to Jujutsu Kaisen called Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo. This new manga follows the children of Yuta and Maki as they create their own destinies. While the story is engaging and introduces many new characters, it hasn’t yet become hugely popular, which is understandable since many fans are still discovering it or haven’t finished the original series. It’s expected that Modulo will gain more readers as time goes on and more people become aware of it.
Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 Release Date Has Been Confirmed
JJK Season 3 Will Release In January 2026
Even though the Jujutsu Kaisen manga has finished, the anime is still being made and will probably continue for another four or five years. Season 3 is confirmed to air in January 2026, which is great news for fans who have been waiting over two years for new episodes! Before the new season arrives, a movie will be released that covers the entire Shibuya Incident arc, plus two episodes from the Culling Game arc. The movie will premiere in Japan, followed by a release in the United States, and will be about two hours long.
The third season of Jujutsu Kaisen will be released in two parts, starting with the first part in January 2026. We don’t have a release date for the second part yet, but MAPPA will share more information after the first part finishes airing. While the total number of episodes isn’t confirmed, it’s expected to be more than 20, likely split evenly between the two parts.
While some viewers might be disappointed the anime is being split into two parts, it’s important to remember this decision helps ensure the quality remains high. The animation team works incredibly hard, and taking a break between parts allows them to avoid burnout and protect their health. MAPPA, the studio, has a reputation for pushing its staff too hard, so this pause is a positive step towards better working conditions.
With Jujutsu Kaisen Season 3 set to premiere in January, it’s entering a crowded anime landscape. Several highly anticipated shows, including Oshi no Ko Season 3, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Season 2, Hell’s Paradise Season 2, and Fire Force Season 4 Part 2, are also scheduled for release in January 2026. These popular series all have large and dedicated fan bases, meaning they’ll be vying for viewers’ attention alongside Jujutsu Kaisen.
