Okay, so huge news for Pokémon fans like me! The Pokémon Company just dropped the announcement for the next games – Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves! And get this – they’re coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. I’m already hyped to explore a brand new region and catch ’em all!

Details about the upcoming Pokémon games have appeared online, showing technical footage and design plans. Because this information wasn’t official, it was unclear if it was accurate until confirmed by the Pokémon Company.

The rumors are finally confirmed! During the 2026 Pokémon Day event, it was revealed that the next generation of Pokémon games – Generation 10 – will be called Pokémon Winds & Waves. The games will take place in a tropical setting.

Pokémon Winds & Waves is scheduled for release on the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027, though a specific date hasn’t been announced yet. It’s likely to be a major title released during the holiday season that year.

The initial trailer for Pokémon Winds & Winds featured stunning graphics, particularly impressive water effects that were a clear improvement over those in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet.

The trailer showed off the three Pokémon players can choose at the beginning of the game.
