In about 10-12 days prior to the arrival of the next update, Genshin Impact will broadcast its Special Program event, where it unveils most of the upcoming content such as new characters for Version 5.5. This popular game has just revealed the latest redemption codes associated with this event.
HoYoverse, the developer behind the game, has previously announced that the upcoming update will bring two new characters – Varesa and Iansan – who are members of the yet-to-be-seen Collective of Plenty tribe. This tribe is unique among the six Natlan tribes as it hasn’t appeared in the game yet, hinting that a fresh quest line might be connected to this unexplored region within the Pyro nation.
The latest Special Event for the program has revealed an abundance of fresh content, such as three new livestream codes offering a significant amount of Primogems to players. Each code offers 100 Primogems and extra materials for character enhancement, which can be utilized to boost either newly introduced or existing characters. Primogems are generally considered the primary currency in the game, enabling Travelers to attempt pulls on the Limited Character Banner. Starting with Genshin Impact Version 5.5, players will have an opportunity to acquire a new character, as HoYoverse has announced that Varesa will debut in the first banner cycle, anticipated to arrive around March 26. Simultaneously, Iansan will also be accessible, as both characters will share the same banner.

As I watched the live stream gameplay demo for Genshin Impact, it was revealed that a fresh main DPS character named Varesa is on the way. What sets Varesa apart is her focus on Plunging Attacks, a feature not often highlighted in this game. By executing a Plunging Attack, Varesa can accumulate Nightsoul points, and reaching a specific threshold will boost the power of her subsequent attack considerably. The majority of Varesa’s damage comes from skillfully blending her Elemental Skill, Charged Attack, and Plunging Attack. As a gamer, I can’t wait to get my hands on this new character!
HoYoverse subtly indicated that Varesa will work well with her mentor, Iansan, who has officially been announced as an Electro user in Genshin Impact. For characters returning, Varesa will be accompanied by Xianyun during the initial banner rotation. The second part of the update showcases beloved character Xilonen alongside Venti.
Fans who missed Xilonen’s last appearance in Genshin Impact might find themselves eager to support her now, given that she has demonstrated herself as one of, if not the top, support characters from Natlan. Although new character introductions often grab the most attention during updates, a fresh region will also unveil a completely novel subregion. This newly introduced part of Natlan will feature several well-known landmarks, such as the towering Tollan Volcano.
