As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of gaming under my belt and having journeyed through The Witcher series since its inception, I must admit, this latest twist has left me more bewildered than a Witcher lost in the depths of the swamp. The cat-and-mouse game between Doug Cockle and CD Projekt Red is reminiscent of a well-played chess match, where each move leaves us spectators scratching our heads in confusion.

During a recent conversation, voice actor Doug Cockle disclosed that the team at CD Projekt Red expressed dissatisfaction after he suggested that Geralt would appear in The Witcher 4.

During a chat with Geektown on YouTube (via IGN), I, Doug Cockle, shared that CD Projekt RED gave me a good ol’ “slap” when I mentioned Geralt would be in The Witcher 4. To clarify, I wasn’t entirely certain about the veracity of my statement and had simply repeated a rumor I’d heard. I thought I recall seeing someone from CD Projekt Red say that Geralt might appear in Witcher 4, but he won’t be the leading character this time around; however, I couldn’t confirm its accuracy. In response, they made it clear to me, “We haven’t revealed anything yet, so kindly keep quiet about it.

Cockle clarified that he’s unsure of what exactly will happen regarding The Witcher 4, as he had an assumption but was later informed by CD Projekt Red not to discuss anything about it. He also mentioned that his information could stem from a very old statement made by someone who no longer works at CD Projekt Red around three years ago. Currently, the Geralt voice actor is in the dark about The Witcher 4.

In a YouTube interview with Fall Damage around four months back, Cockle hinted that Geralt will appear in an upcoming Witcher 4 game. However, he wasn’t clear about how central his character would be to the storyline as the game won’t primarily focus on him. Moreover, Cockle admitted that he hasn’t reviewed the script yet and might just be telling fibs.
