Get Ready! Ekans and Serperior Life-Size Plushes Are Coming Soon!

Summary

  • Pokemon adds Ekans and Serperior as life-size plushies, with a limited regional release.
  • Price for these plushies is undisclosed but could be in the hundreds like previous ones.
  • Fans may expect a worldwide release of the Ekans and Serperior plushies in the future.

Pokemon is expanding its collection of life-size plush toys by introducing Ekans and Serperior. These new additions might excite dedicated Pokemon fans, but they may face challenges in obtaining these plushies since they are part of a limited, regionally available release.

Pokémon has produced countless plush toys throughout its history, yet life-sized ones are less common. So far, Pokémon has released life-sized plushes of pocket monsters such as Psyduck, Porygon, and more recently, Gardevoir. However, it seems they aren’t stopping at just these; two additional characters are expected to be added to this collection soon.

Two giant plush toys modeled after Ekans and Serperior, characters from the Pokémon universe, have been unveiled to mark the Year of the Snake celebration. Ekans stands at about 2 meters (6.5 feet), while Serperior reaches a towering 3.3 meters (almost 11 feet). As depicted in their Pokedex entries, these sizes are accurate. A unique aspect of these plushies is that they can be positioned, allowing their heads to extend from their coiled bodies. These plushies will initially be available at Pokémon Centers in China; however, distribution plans for other parts of the world have yet to be revealed.

Pokemon Ekans and Serperior Plushes Could Be Pricey

To date, the exact prices for these two Snake Pokémon plushies remain undisclosed, but given the high costs of previous life-sized Pokémon plush toys – with figures like Psyduck ($288 in 2020), Porygon ($390), Gardevoir ($325), a giant Slowpoke ($450) and a giant Spheal ($450) – it’s reasonable to anticipate that fans will need to save a substantial amount of money for these new additions.

Although it’s unclear if these two Pikachu plushes will appear in Pokemon Centers or other stores globally, fans might not need to be too concerned right away. Previously released plush toys, such as the large Spheal plush, initially had region-restricted launches but eventually became available elsewhere. Given the significant fan base and successful sales in China, it’s quite possible that these two plushes will make their way to Japan and the west eventually. For now, fans simply have to exercise a bit of patience. Fortunately, there are numerous smaller plush toys of various Pokemon available to keep avid collectors entertained until these new ones arrive.
