Incredible Seasun Games has revealed that the global open beta test for their new game, “Mecha BREAK: Global Storm,” will commence on February 23 for both PC and Xbox Series X|S. In the coming weeks, participants in this open beta test will get a comprehensive sneak peek at the game before its anticipated spring 2025 launch. A variety of modes within the game will be accessible during this testing phase.

Back in early October, I was thrilled to learn that the team at Amazing Seasun Games has exclusively reserved the upcoming title, “Mecha BREAK,” for Xbox Series X|S at first. This means my fellow PlayStation 5 gamers will have to be patient and wait until later in the year to get a taste of this exciting mech shooter.

However, the good news is that the PC versions, launching simultaneously on Steam and Windows via the Xbox app, will offer cross-play and cross-save functionality between both platforms. This means that Xbox and PC users can enjoy the game together from the get-go!

What’s more, Amazing Seasun Games has announced that developers from Xbox are lending a helping hand in the development of “Mecha BREAK” to guarantee seamless cross-platform features at launch. Almost four months after the August 2024 beta test, gamers on both Xbox and PC will have another chance to check out “Mecha BREAK” before its final release.

The global open beta test for “Mecha BREAK” by Amazing Seasun Games kicks off on February 23 at 2:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 a.m. ET, and it will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC platforms. The exact end date for this beta test is yet to be announced. During the open beta, players can enjoy the 3v3 Ace Arena and 6v6 Operation VERGE game modes from the previous “Mecha BREAK” open beta, as well as a brand-new tactical co-op PvPvE mode called “Mashmak.”

A new trailer has been released to showcase this exciting new Mashmak mode and confirm the start date of the open beta. In the Mashmak Isles, players will fight for control over vast reserves of a mysterious and volatile substance known as Corite. This material can trigger pulse storms that cause destruction. To withstand these harsh conditions and outperform opponents in close-quarters combat, new equipment has been designed specifically for this purpose.

Mecha BREAK Global Storm Open Beta Test Begins on February 23

  • The open beta test will begin on February 23 at 2:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 a.m. ET.
  • It will be available on Xbox Series X|S and PC only.
  • The new Mashmak PvPvE mode will be available for the first time in the beta.

At the launch of Mecha BREAK, all the gameplay elements showcased during the Global Storm open beta test will be present. This includes the tutorial and opening sequence, character and mech customization options, an explorable space station, three main game modes, a training room, and 13 unique mechs. The developers have also confirmed that cross-platform play will be enabled in the beta, allowing Xbox and PC users to team up and play together. During the open beta test, players can acquire and select from various new weapons and equipment tailored to their playing style, a feature similar to what was experienced in the previous Mecha BREAK PC beta test.

Fans of mech shooter games on PlayStation 5 will have to be patient for now, but the scheduled release of Mecha BREAK for PlayStation in 2025 means that they won’t need to wait a full year before the console exclusivity period concludes. Before the PlayStation 5 version debuts, the game is anticipated to undergo several post-launch updates, and an upcoming beta test may generate a favorable and enduring response from fans as they await the Xbox and PC launch of Mecha BREAK.
